Winter in Wanaka 2014

Greetings!

I am leaving for New Zealand in May and looking for some all-around info from my fellow NSers! The only thing i know right now is I will be living/working in Wanaka and skiing at Cardrona. Any info on the town i.e. cool bars, restaurants, activities or anything else that might help would be appreciated.

ALSO IF ANYONE HAS 2 ROOMS FOR RENT FROM MAY-SEP/OCT OR IS INTERESTED IN SHARING A HOUSE PLEASE RESPOND!

Im heading out for the season may time. nothing planned, looking to work/live in wanaka.

so ill be looking for somewhere to stay, if you need another person for a house or something possibly.

cool! sounds great guys...just bought my cardrona seasons pass today, stoked!!

so me and my friend cody are leaving the u.s. on may 13th it looks like, then gonna stay in either a hostel or couch surf until we find a place. i've been told it's pretty easy to find one, just hang around the town, check the classifieds, etc. BUT WE SHOULD ALL DEFINITELY KEEP IN TOUCH!! we will be looking for people to live/ski/hang with as soon as we get there!

I coming May- October for my 6th season at Cardrona. Wanaka is a small town.You will figure out all the good spots for a drink within a week or two. It really depends on what night you are going out.
 
My favourite bar has to be LaLa Land. A lil boutique bar upstairs, serve the meanest jam jars and mean house lager while you sit on couches and big old armchairs. You'll figure it out quick as. Kai is always good for a bit of aprés ski as well.

Me and friend will be road tripping NZ for 3 months from 1st July. Hopefully be rolling into Wanaka area around last week august/start of sept.

so if anyone has a shower we can use/would be up for a shred!!
