Winter in NY

id like to know too. i think that other thread about the farmers almanac said that it was gonna be like last winter or better... which id be happy with

pray for the best..... some early lake effect and steady cold temperatures would due.

the past couple winters have been unsteady, snow, rain, snow rain. so basically the weather plays with my emotions... haaahhh

December was awesome.

the rest of the year, not so much.

so yea a whole season of december would be good

rochester/ bristol...i already know the tug hill plateau always gets hammered cuz i used to snowmobile up there but yea last year we had a massive amount of snow... but it would melt every 3 weeks

the snow generally comes in spurts. we will have usually 2-3 big storms, courtesy of erie himself, but it will mostly be gone in 2 weeks. then comes the 3 days of rain...

dude maybe....or it could mean global warming is coming faster than expected(hopefully not) hows the snowfall in connecticut anyway

it beens getting to the high 40's at night right now where i live. i hear are first snow is going to ffall in october and i hear its going to be a good winter. i went t o a farm stand by my house and my mom asked when they will have squash and the farmer guy said very soon because its supposed to be an early/ good winter

I think anyone who lived in Upstate New Yorks snowbelts can agree that the winter of 06-07 was absolutely awesome once it began. Sure it sucked not skiing until the second week of January, but the multiple feet of powder that fell in a weeks time was so worth it.

I hope you guys have a good winter this year though. Long range forecasts based of the European model are hinting at normal temps with above average snowfall for the great lakes areas.

They are predicting for a warmer than normal November, with a colder than normal January and February. We all know that means warmer lakes to start with, which means more lake snows.

If it snows as much as it rained this summer i will be so pumped. yeah the begining of the season at bristol was great but then it pretty much sucked until like halfway through January. I also have 2 weeks off for winter break so i hope we have a lot of snow

I hope it continues on into the season....I just realized today that throughout this entire summer, I only turned on the AC in my car twice...and one day was today. It rained sooo much, we would be up to our armpits in snow if we get that much precip this winter.

the lab park absolutely trounces greek peaks park by a long shot, but lab is a piece of shit mountain otherwise

My dad grew up skiing at Greek Peak.

My grandma lives near there so I might go there over Christmas Break. Do they have a decent park?

So the park at greek isn't that great, but the rest of the mountain is actually fun compared to lab

I just looked online and it looks like it would be mad fun to bomb down the skiers left side of the mountain

word, i need to get up to tog sometime this year for sure. i learned to ski there, and havent been since. if you come down to lab though let me know, im on anthems, most likely only one there with them

I'm skeptical about all that farmers almanac and long range forecast stuff. Weathermen can't even make the right predictions for a 5 day forecast sometimes. Whatever, if NY has a winter like last year, I'll be content.

Thank you for reppin the home mtn brah. And lans not that bad terrain wise, you hit up the cat trails and its fun all day, till you smack a tree but then you laughhh. Never skiied at Greek, I might this year though, one of my friends goes to Binghampton, I hear their ski club goes to greek?

People who don't spend 95% of their time in the park, and actually enjoy themselves outside of it. We all know that playing in natures natural terrain is better than any man made park. I should soooo be out west. FUCK!
