Winning your own event??

nothing wrong with it, its an open event that means anyone and everyone can compete. Simon of course competed and (hopefully) was not judged any differently then any of the competitors and if he laid down the best run then fuck it, he deserved to win his own comp.
 
does it really matter both jon and simon are both sick skiers and i respect them for what they are doing/done for the sport and the way they put together the NAO was so much sicker than the other open events
 
simons best run was his fourth....outta three runs due to wind.

and the event woulda been sick no matter what, it was in the freeway.its always perfect.

Jon also won his own Invitational, JOI 2 years ago when he invented the kang flip. I don't see a problem with it, as long as they're judged and treated the same as the other athletes
 
if this is just about simon winning the north american open, which is put on by him AND jon, why are you doing this? jon won the first joi, and simon won the pipe part of the comp he co hosted. i would think something major was up if simon was judging the pipe runs but he wasnt, and the judges weren't biased, so what is the point of starting to think that simon shouldn't be able to win at NAO.
 
yah he helped put it together but it was called the NAO not the simon dumont open. so he should be able to compete.
 
simon did not do anything to the pipe to make him go higher did he? the only difference between the NAO and the Xgames was simons name was not on the comp. what difference does it make?
 
why would jon and simon put there name on an event that was going to happen. simon didnt change the pipe and jon didnt change the freeway. if anything, he pushed the lips inward, cause those jumps were gigantic, then all of a sudden tiny.

jacob and simon needed to get paid....and it happened.
 
if the judges didnt judge differently and were fair and iddnt favor any one.. i dont see why he wouldnt be aloud to win his own event...
 
didnt jon say a few years ago when he won that he didn't set out to win it, but if it happened, oh well.

i've heard and read that over all the point of the JOI and stuff like that is to have fun, throw down some huge tricks, and maybe try out some new stuff. it sounds like a nice chill comp to just have a ton of fun.
 
hey back door boy.....its a question i didnt say they couldnt win....the best skiers always win you should just stick to your snolerbladin an you ll be fine..
