Ok, so i am living in Europe right now and i really need some help with my new laptop. It is an HP Pavillion dv900 and is running on Windows Vista. Limewire and Skype wont work. Something is not letting it connect in order to run the programs. I cant download anything in Limewire and Skype wont connect. I really need these because i need to be able to contact home and keep up my share of new music. If it is something with Vista that you know how to fix, or if you even know what the problem is, please help. It will really be appreciated.

Right click the icon and select 'run as administrator' or right click and go to properties>compatiblilty>Windows xp sp2 or disable your firewall for a few minutes and see if you can connect, and then allow the programs past the firewall.

have you tried reinstalling the programs? did you get a virus from limewire?

download pc tools antivirus and do a scan..

Ok, I am in europe right now so it isnt really easy to call microsoft and ask. but i am using wifi and i was connected to my router on my home computer, which limewire and skype etc work properly, and it still didnt work on my laptop. the only difference was that this computer has Windows Vista Home Premium and my home computer had Windows XP Home Edition SP2. I did was what suggested and it still didnt work. I am running as the admin and i turned off all firewalls and it didnt work. They are the newest versions of Limewire and Skype as well. I tried downloading ICQ as well and it wont let that connect either. I can connect to the internet fine though. It can be a virus off limewire either because i have never downloaded anything yet because i cant connect.

HELP PLEASE!
