Windells vs high north

alright just lemme get this straight

windells is on hood

and High North, and COC are on whistler

what else is on hood and what else on whistler?

im pretty sure the atmospere at windells is better, especially off the hill, like at camp...

The only ones i know for sure that are in wistler is momentum, coc dave murray, and high north.. on hood ya got windells, mt hood summer ski camp, HCSC (board),plus a quality pube park

HN = too steep.

COC eats everything, and no matter how much you say hn is better then coc you just cant win. you know its better you just dont want to admit it.

thank you, that was quite helpful

and so far, it seems like high north is a better quality park, but im wondering, is it worth the extra money?

i havent been to high north, but i have been to windells. so i can tell you what i liked and what i didnt like

pros

tons of good skateboarding. if you skate, you d love it there

good atmosphere on and off hill. everyone was really friendly even if you werent good at skiing/skating whatever.

good park, big lane, lots of stuff to hit.

decent public park, and apparently if you go mid july its even sicker.

good coaching

decent housing (road house)

cons

lots of younger kids (not a con if you are younger)

some sessions are packed with tons of kids

its a snowboard, skateboarding, and skiing camp, so not all focused on skiing like high north is.

if you dont skateboard at all, you could find yourself a little bored. unless you wanna try. or you could sit at the trampoline for a while or play knock out.

no lift for park. (there is palmer, but it closes at 1 30 and you have to cut out of the park a little early to get to it.

theres probably more but i cant think of any now

windells is sick. i went there last year. i went in agust. they a good park. they had a lot of snow too. but high north looks so sick.

These kinds of threads are stupid. All the camps are sick. I went to HN this year and met many coaches from Momentum and COC. All care about what they are doing, all have *different* kinds of lanes. HN has the best lane flow on the Blackcomb glacier (people, it is NOT on Whistler, it is IN Whistler -- there are TWO mountains, not one, in Whistler). And HN has the best progression from small to medium to large rails / boxes and jumps, and this year they had two sick step-ups, medium and large. Also the benefit with HN is a smaller camp size (especially week 1, only 30 campers!!). Momentum has sick advanced rail features, like the wall ride and crazy s-rails and things, and they are very inventive. They also have a smaller camp size. Both Momentum and HN share a t-bar, which isolates them from the glacier crowds. As for COC, yes they have a HUGE, sick park, which rocks if you are advanced enough to rip it, but they also share a t-bar with the public, and they also have way, way bigger sessions. Dave Murray I'm not so hot on due to its location at the bottom of the glacier, but it's cheaper, and a good alternative to the expense of the others. As for Windell's, it sounds to me like a good 'summer camp' experience (much more controlled, and for the kids, perhaps better), whereas the Whistler camps have adult campers & a Whistler village party life...
