Windells edits need more campers in them

Personally my favorite part of watching Windells session edits is the campers. It seems like with every edit there is less and less campers...not that I dont like watching dom laporte
 
I agree. The camp is all about the kids. It's their chance to improve and show what they've got. Sure, I love watching good riders, but it needs to focus more heavily on the kids.
 
You're right, in a perfect world they should put in more campers.

Windells doesn't make these edits to have people say "meh" at them though. This is a form of free advertising, and you have to face it; seeing a bunch of pros ride is much more captivating and interesting than a bunch of average joes. They want to make you come to camp, and they achieve that by showing kids all the huge names that ski there.
 
They do it as a marketing tool. Having a bunch of pros throwing down good tricks on big jumps and more difficult rails makes the camp look better. It also persuades kids to come to camp because they think that if they go they will get " That good". I would personally like to see 75% camper, 25% pro mix in the edits.
 
to everyone saying people want to see good skiers, there are REALLY good campers that dont get put in the edit...
 
I respectfully disagree, sir. While I agree there SHOULD be edits with campers in them, I don't think they should fuse the two more than they already have. More campers would mean a lower caliber of riding which ultimately means less views and viewer interest.
 
They usually do a "campers edit" for the first 4 and second 4 sessions. That's where the use the shots of campers.
 
In all honesty, most campers can't do more than a 270. How many 270's are you trying to watch? If the campers throw some sick stuff, I agree, they should be in the edits. However I don't think anybody wants to see flat boxes and tiny jump tricks.
 
i was so excited to watch the session 1 edit to see if i was in it... i obviously wasnt, nor was any of my friends. really disappointing, MORE CAMPERS!
 
A: Make edit with all pros for advertisement

B: Make edit with all campers for campers/anyone who would want to watch it

C: Hire media interns to work for credentials filming/editing
 
Windells hires plenty of media interns. I have noticed the edits have gotten substantially shorter. I'm just looking for more coverage showcasing everyone (campers, pros, bails, titties).

Aren't there already people and coaches there filming specifically for you spoiled brats?

Insurance wasn't too stoked on showing how 2000$ for the week can get you wrecked.

which sucks cause they were funny as fuck

Why? I could understand if they made two different edits but I think the pro to camper ratio is pretty good in the edits

Isn't Windells supposed to be all about the campers? I don't see how its fair that they paid good money to go to the camp, and they barely include them in the videos.

Because Session edits are like advertisements and shitty skiing doesnt get kids stoked to ski. There should be shots of campers having fun at the camp and pro's on the hill.

Bump, still agree with this, so many people think that you have to be very good to go because of the pros in the session edits. In reality the average camper there was learning 2s out and backflips, and the better campers were learning corks and harder rail stuff and hitting the big jump. Plus watching the campers do stuff would be pretty cool

It would be nice to see shots of campers progressing. I remember a clip from a Windells edit a couple of years ago showing a group learning their first backflips - and it's the only clip I remember from that edit because it got me stoked. That would be good marketing too, showing what one can achieve in a week at Windells.

i really dont understand the people saying its not good advertising to show campers throwing down and that no one would watch and is meh skiing, for 2 reasons

1. Everyone already knows pro skiers are good at skiing, thats why they are pro .and unless they came up through windells its not even good advertising for the camp who is trying to sell a camp to kids who want to get better at skiing, because that camper cant really relate to the pro.

2. Alot of campers at windells absolutley THROW DOWN, pretty far from what i would call average skiing , and for a perspective camper could say to themselves "Oh If i go to windells I could get as good as this guy who goes to windells.

Yup.

You aren't entitled to a starring role in a PROMO video showing off the camp facilities, and perfect parks. The idea is to make the place look attractive to potential customers, period. If you're motivated by the slim chance you might get a shot in the fucking edit, I don't even know what to say. Get a grip! Such a blatant vanity circle jerk.

Well, if the idea is to make the place look attractive to potential customers, also known as campers, then it would be great to show them campers and how good they are and how much fun they are having and make them want to go to camp, instead of just showing pros who they already know are good.

Its awesome to see the kids who are learning ski, the only pro they put in was colby west on the big jump but other than that its all the campers.
 
The edits should show the best skiing that goes down at camp, regardless of if the skiers are pro or am. Simple as that. No one wants to watch mediocre camper skiing if that's what people are suggesting. The edits are pretty amazing as is so there's not really that much to complain about.
