Windells academy

its probably going to be a bunch of rich kids, i mean most people have a hard enough time making it to one session. if u really wanted to ski all year, a much better altrernative would be indepentant study, or homeschooling

I can only imagine...It would be amazing to have that kind of money and still be set for college. But getting out there on the weekends and after school if there is a mountain close by is the best bet. Also, there are internship opportunities where you can get out which would be fun.

I really wish I could do this it sounds like such an awesome way to go through school and be able to progress at your own speed in both academics and skiing. but the fact that its 30k and across the country doesnt help me

everyone has to remember that there are still tons of families that have that kind of money, lots of people pay to go to ski academy's. This one, though, is about 10 grand less than a few of the others, and a hell of a lot more effective for the aspiring freeskier.

Well if your looking for effective freeskiing instruction at the price of a Lotus Elise, go to Windells. But since most pros learned to become good on their own, I think I'll pass.

my parents think im to young to be across the country all year

but they are letting me go to a baseball academy in florida

(which i might do for next spring NOT full year)

i have, being approved by a university doesnt mean anything. all the ski academy ive ever been to suck, all the ones my friends have been to suck

you clearly haven't see the amount of talent that has come out of east-coast academies like CVA.

they pretty much own the USSA half-pipe and slopestyle leaderboards

Its not even a worthwhile investment...

35k a year

times 4 years

$140,000

It is quite hard to make that kind of money by freestyle skiing alone...

HaHaHa do you know how many 5c Candys you could buy with that money! But on a serious note i know to guys who are thinking about going and thère parents will let them! for me its super hard to find the money just to go to ski camp ive been savin up for awhile now.

honestly id be insulted if anyone has that type of money to spend on school, at my highschool our ski program cost 500$ a year and we were skiing 2-3 days a week from nov to april, so thats a potential of 4-5 days a week of skiing which is plenty. I mean sure we werent going to nz to gotraining or travaelling the world for comps, but who gives a shit, i was having fun. Anyway if your parents have that type of money to WASTE, tell them to save it and when you finish highschool they can buy you a house.

There is so many rich little faggots at windells who completely waste there money one day after we went rafting we stopped for ice cream and one kid bought me and like 10 other kids ice cream. thats over 55dollars in ice cream, 60 including himself.

obviously ski academies aren't affordable for a lot of people, but if you are going to go to one, this lets you ski literally all fucking year and its cheaper than some of the others so basically hanley is the man and is putting together something that will be awesome for kids who want to go to a ski academy and get the most out of it

Ryan is correct. In addition to the people saying they are going to get a shitty education, you must not know that much about Kaplan's online programs, because they are top notch. So before you get all pissed because you can't go and start hating on this great, new program, i would really watch what you say because half of you are completely wrong.

You can say what you want about online courses, but they just don't compare to going to an actual school. Why spend $140,000 on an online high school when you can spend nothing and get a good education (at least in my town) and ski every day of the winter season? Then you could spend a ccouple thousand and go down to South America in the summer.

fuck collage ill spend that money now!

but seriously if i had that money id go. hmm how much does a kidney go for on the black market? i got an extra...

ya at least the kid wasnt selfish. if bought u all ice cream he may be rich but he is certainely not a faggot

I can go to a self-study school, teach myself and ski 5 hours every day of the week, and more on weekends. Why would I pay?
Awesome option for anyone who can afford it, hope everyone who's going has fun.
I don't care what you say though, online school looks nowhere as good as going to the top school in your area.
I really wish I could go haha.

ya even if u did go pro and became as popular as say tom wallisch or someone else very popular u would still have a hard time paying that off cuz theres not that much money in skiing

thanks, but i would rather get a real education. and i wouldn't want to ski 355 days a year.

tell me that i'm not a true skier, or a hardXcore shredder. i just wouldn't want to do it.

you obviously dont know your sponsors to good. i dont know how much tom wallisch is getting paid but he probably gets that much in a single season easy... and thats just from his sponsers. plus comp wins plus movies? your talking about easly doubling maybe tripling that #
