Winches and towing systems for urban

Every winch on the internet costs like 3 fuckin grand to buy. I bought a banshee bungee a couple years ago and the thing is fucking garbage. I'm still too young to drive myself and tow my buddies with a car which I thought would be a solid idea if there's space to do so. Any of u have a different towing system, winch that u made urself or do u stick to making drop ins out of snow and some plywood?

ask mom & dad to buy a motor at tractor supply, buy rope and wakeboard handle.

got urself a cheap winch.

A 6.5 hp motor will comfortably get you up to about 20 depending on how you gear it, if you are looking for more speed (higher gearing) I recommend going to a 10 hp

We had a North Pull winch that the Tabarnak Pack boys were using to film with. It was definitely a solid winch for the price.

The big ones that the Stept dudes used were ultra expensive. You get what you pay for with a winch though really.

Horizontal shaft engine with a rope and piled on other end. Works great. You could also use steel cable for extra strength. Look on sites like Craigslist for a cheap engine and it’s alot less than 3 grand

Yo this might be a dumb question but what should I buy to connect to the engine so I can wind up the rope?

I've always wondered if you could make a winch out of an smallish dirtbike. Take the rear tire off and turn the rim into a rope spindle, then make a little stand so the rear wheel is off the ground. Then have your homie tow you in and crank through the gears. Thoughts?
