Wilmot will be absolute shit tomorrow, like most place, but Alpine is supposed to open tomorrow as well and for only $15, I thought it was a pretty good deal -- then Tyrol Sunday for $12? Lazy Ski Weekend FTW
i'm sure nothing will be set up at wilmot. and alpine opens at noon on sunday. its opening weekend be happy there open stop bitching that there isn't a rail to hit.
you all are lucky to even have resorts opening up, with what ive been hearing the weather has been like.
they dont really have the snowmaking ability to have a huge amount of features open the first day. let alone want to take the time to set anything up. they are more worried about getting normal runs open to make some money before worrying about the park. its not like colorado wherre they open with full parks. be happy your finally skiiing. give it a week or so then they will eventually start getting stuff set up
^^that was un needed. these "kids" are excited to ski, they want rails, THEY CAN ASK QEUSTIONS AND BE EXCITED ABOUT SOMETHING. dont have to go around and leave long paragraphs about your opinion.
first off, i never said you couldnt ask questions, or be excitied.. that wasnt my opinion. other then tyrol midwest resorts dont make any money off their parks. its all made with normal runs. so they arnt going to go out of thier way to make sure they have stuff up for opening day. give it a few weeks. im just telling you what to expect and the resons behind it.
every resort normal has a order in which they want to open which runs. take wilmot for example. first thing always open is exhibition and Broadway and turtle. one expert/intermediate run and a beginner run and then turtle with the tow rope for lessons. 2nd would be chair 5 and the runs around it. including the runs they use for racing thats a money make for wilmot. 3rd would be chair 7 and the terrain park runs.
i guess i shouldn't have called you guys kids. but i'm 10 to 15 years older then most of you haha
Yo if any of you have season passes there, my friend just said that they won't give him the season pass until the whole mountains open.... so if ur thinkin about goin to wilmot today because u have a pass, u might wanna reconsider
well hey guys if the park did open it would be shit with all snowboarders thinking its brostock or some shit..... place is the worst with wholes after the rails and and the snowboarders that stand in front of them
I was thinking of skiing wilmot on christmas day but am not sure how many runs will be open. i know it's only the 10th but about how many runs do you think they will have open. don't really care about rails or park just want to listen to some music and make some runs all day.
concept this question is geared toward you since A) you work there and B) I don't think a good majority of these kids know what they are talking about.. your pretty knowledgeable .
I havn't been out there yet this year. I would imagine by christmas with this weather we are having right know they should just about be 100% open. It says on there website that there making snow on chair 5 (snow bowl) and on Superior which is part of chair 8 right in the front. so this is normal order for them as far as where they make snow. so as long as it stays cold i'm sure it will be some good skiing come christmas day.
I'm not working out there this year or at least not yet.
damn your not working there anymore. so is the park then going to be a huge shit show now or what. i figured that they would get the middle section of the hill done first. I just want to ski stateline blasting some music. that on a sunny day would be a great way to spend christmas.
the park is never that great, the rails are pretty fun but they need a park crew fixing the snowboarder divits on busy days, also the jumps fucking suck but thats my opinion, park has alot more potential and there needs to be more the 2 jumps
yeah wish i was working. only time will tell how the park will be. stateline is always alot of fun. and yes we know there should be more then 2 jumps and that the rails got all messed up and hand big bomb holes at the end of them. and blah blah blah. I agree there should be park crew if its that bad grab a rake and shovel and fix it yourself i don't think anyone will stop you
its deff alota funn, but ya make a 3 jump line with big landings on one of the hills you got plenty of room like a 25 35 to a 50 would be sick, the rails werent bad at all but i pay 50$ or however much for a lift ticket im not gunna be fixing all the rails ha u know wat i mean
I know that they need a park crew. when they first brought back the park me and my buddies were on park crew. the best job I have ever had. got to ski the park all day, rake jumps fix rail take offs and everything. the park was always enjoyable when we worked. i wouldn't mind getting that job back if they were hiring a park crew.
backstage is opening tomorrow. I got a call from wilmot today so i'm going out this evening to push out and build backstage (beginner park) I know its nothing big its a start. so maybe i will be working at wilmot after all only time will tell
