Wilmot Open?

i've been hearing that wilmot will be open this weekend, if that is true who all is going and what will they have?

saturday at 2:00pm check the website.
as far as what they will have it. it will be white and its called snow and you slide down on it with either your skis or your snowboard. and 99.9 percent sure only broadway (chair 3) and Exhibition (chair 8).
not sure yet if there will be any rails out or not i called today to see if they wanted me to come in and build and put anything out and havn't gotten a anwser back.
 
nothing out this weekend. hopeful next weekend. I also got a look at the 4 new rails all I have to say is oh my god!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
what do you really think i would go out to wilmot with out my camera.
C Rail this one is mellow one. there is a hard one being built at this time.

there is also going to be a S rail and one of the crazyest rollercoster (Rainbow kicker Rail) i have seen. which tim was building in the Garage when i was out there this afternoon.
Have any of you guys hit the long urban rail? if so do think its fine the way it is or should the legs be shortened so its not so high off the snow?
oh yeah why not a snowmaking picture or two.

Two things, First, i think i might cry... those are sooo sick. and second, and have you seen the new cat, its about time that they got a new one...
 
yep yep saw it today when i was out there. they didn't even have tracks on the BR 275 which i drove alot last winter. there alittle behind it seems
 
how long is that long urban rail now? if its long enough you guys should cut it in half and then have 2 good sized normal urban rails. Also you might want to make them not as tall, last season it was pretty high and kinda sketch for trying any tricks
 
not really sure on that one. I didn't build it. not sure how long the urban is i just know its long and heavy as hell
 
can you make the gap between the lip of the jump and the actual a little rail a lil shorter this year por favor
 
what is it you want. do you not want ride on's or do you want a gap from the take off to the rail. or just plan what do you want..
 
last year it seemed like alot of the rails had gaps but some of them were rediculously large. If it helps at all, the setup for the ME Rail Jam last year with the gap to the large flat box, flat down box, and large street rail all set up on the middle shelf in the middle of the park was perfect. That was the most fun I had last season at wilmot
 
Do people still live in the house at the bottomof the hill? I used to have a buddy that lived there back when I taught lessons at wilmot.
 
that was a very good set up. no one is living in that house right know. Tim Doyle was useing the garage to build the new rails.

Does anyone know this guy? This picture is on the new ticket price sign behind the ticket counter. 3 out of the 4 pictures are mine:)

what does wilmot have up and open right now. i'm going to be back home this weekend and was thinking about hitting up wilmot if they had anything worth while. also. is it still half price tickets if you have a sunburst pass?

looks like wilmot is getting a LOT better than it used to be... blowing up. if wilmot makes a really sick park this year, then us Chicago people won't have to drive 3 hours to Tyrol to get a decent park.
Make sick rails Wilmot, this is where I grew up skiing and I'd love to ski there all the time over winter break. And make some sicker jumps too!! i know you guys can do it
 
as far as i know there isn't anything up last time i was there was sunday or atleast they havn't called me to do anything yet. there was talk about puting up the begginer park on the top of Chair 3 and maybe a rail or 2 on broadway. but chair 3 is broken i belive with a broken gear box which could take awhile to fix.
not sure about the whole sunburst season pass thing.
hopeful they can get something out this weekend. but it is only the 2nd week open so its still super earlyer. remmeber tyrol is tyrol no other place is like them. If i have my way wilmot be way better then it ever has been.
 
thats a big negative on that. last i heard Chair 3 was still broke and that they where making snow over by chair 5. I might go out there after work at 4 tommorrw.
 
I had a dream about wilmot and there jumps. the jumps this year will be legit. in my dream the take offs were a little bit too steep and the landings were nice and long with a good pitch. also, they were big enough to throw double backs off of. I saw someone do one in my dream, it was tight. there were two jumps in a row and it seemed like there was enough room for a third. all of these jumps were on the run were all the rails were last year and it seemed like a super fun time. so if you could make some stellar jumps on that run it would be just like my dream. hahaha, that sounds weird that I had a dream about wilmot but i thought I would put it out there so that they can have a great park this year.

anyways..... there was this one guy (dont remember his name) helpin timmy put a flat bar in the ground and make a takeoff, he somehow got timmy to make a real takeoff
 
naw it was a skier ive skiied with him a couple times i jst dont remember his name... all the boarders (frump and all them) got there after the rail was in
 
because of the storm that has happened yesterday and today, does anybody know if they are gona put any more rails on broadway or put some up on that patch above chair three, that would be sick to get that rail yard up again
 
they didn't get that much snow from the storm. Not sure if there going to have anymore rails out on broadway or not. As for as Backstage which is on top of chair 3 goes thats soppesed to be the first park open when there is snow. i'm going to call tommorrw and see whats going on.
 
nothing more is up i was out there today. I'm working tommorrw night at 11 so there might be a couple changes or something new out.
but i have pictures of the new rainbow kick rail. its freaking a monster.

But are those sweet rails on the hill yet? I can only ski after 7:30 in the evening thanks to work and alcoholism and wilmot on thursday was a disapointment, I mean more-so than usual. I get its early and all but hell im 30 miles south and i had to plow the walks twice already this morning. Get them rails up.
 
holy shit, that thing is amazing! I cant wait to hit that this season. Are you guys planning on putting skirting on that since its so tall?

Im defenitely coming to Wilmot next weekend, if you guys want help during the day setting shit up lemme know I should be there probly 9-3
 
yeah there will be skirting on it. damn thing is like 6 feet plus tall at the top of the rainbow. I'm going to have to make one hell of a pad and landing for that thing. on that note Tonight was my first night working. So I fixed up the rails

that where on the bottom of Broadway. And groomed Exhibition. Hopeful by next

weekend there will be some stuff up in the main park on hideaway. Since they

where making snow on the north side of the hill.
 
Quick question, was it your idea to make the rail (flat rail, not the ones in the ground) a ride on instead of the tiny gap it was or timmys lol
 
all i did was redo the ramp for it. at first i did realize i pushed it took close to the rail but would have been a bitch to back drag it out agian. so i let if and tilled it out and was done. I was hoping someone would have took a shovel and made it so it wasn't a ride on but looks like they didn't there is only so much i can do with out getting out of the groomer and i wasn't about to do that shit it was 5 degrees when i was out there
