Wilmot Mountain Update

yea sat was a ton of fun did alot of shit i have never tryed. cant wiat for some kind of vid. lets all get out there some time again and a few more if we can. it would be a blast.
 
ya there were several of us hitting it, the speed is perfect as long as you straight line from the top, it wasn't that bad cuz i was hitting it switch and had no problem clearing it
 
So I had this idea the other day

but

you know that wooden wall / fence thing next to the gnar bar

could you build a jump onto the side of it so it could be a wallride

 
thats not a bad idea. someone also had a idea about a try stall on one of the trees in bunny glen. I might be working tommorrw night i will take a look at that wall.
 
Yeah ive been thinking the same thing! i always wondered why you guys didnt, at times i thought there might have even been a bit of a tranny set up to it. but yeah i kind of miss the mini park from last year that was over there. i like the barrel jib, is there anyway you guys could make similar things like that? or just any other kind of bonk and also yeah the big jump is tons of fun
 
you guys got rid of the disco box!?!?!?! I was looking forward to hitting that this past weekend :), put it back in? or perhaps make a dancefloor box...
 
Also another thing to think about: The jump near the bottom (with the fast tranny and is spine style so no real landing) would be really good if the tranny was made steeper and had a bigger landing. It would be perfect for learnin backs since its so steep. I know they aren't really allowed, but noone needs to say it's made for inverts lol
 
the old wallride was sick back in the day. Usually it was in really bad condition but if you caught it on a good day it was a blast.
 
I just got home from wilmot. this week they made atleast 2 to 4 feet of snow in the park its alittle crazy cause of that. so some of the stuff might be shitty this weekend. Also the Bombardier 275 is broke down and thats the cat i nomral always use not sure when they are going to have it fixed.

ok It looks like i will just be there for work tonight. I have to much stuff to do today to get ready to leave monday for test fest at boyne mountain on tuesday
 
anything new with wilmot. haven't heard much from the Matterhorn of the Midwest. How did the week's weather affect the hill?
 
I tried my friends for the first time down a 10 foot hill in lincoln park but other than that I've never ridden one

I sense a conspiracy
 
the beginner park is up i think, and im sure their working as hard as they can to put the main park back together after all the melt off lately...
 
there is a jump the one that was there didn't melt off too bad. everything looked good and survied the melt pretty good because wilmot made like 2 feet of snow in the park the week before this god awful warm weather.
 
wilmots park is the best right now on sat i had the sickest day the only thing (not complaining) is the gnar walls tranny was kinda wierd but besides that awsome
 
I will try to take a look at that tonight. When i worked on tuesday everything still looked good the snow was shitty though cause of the little rain we got that night. I'm hoping they make some more snow in the park this week or next. i have been waiting to rebuild the big jump but don't wanna do that tell they make more snow. would be super bad if i took the snow thats there down to the ice shit would melt superfast.
 
Quick suggestion on this: The small side is still good, but for the big side, try to make it more of a booter than a step down. If you keep the kicker the same length and add some height to the lip (with a steeper transition) it should float people alot better.

And brice ill be there sat unless i decide to ditch work to go watch the alpine comp.
 
ummm, you obviously dont realize that theres no speed to do that... the jump was fine how it was, the snow is just so shitty that nobody wants to hit it
 
When it snows again, would it be possible to make the jumps step ups, or make a step up, There really easy to learn on, and really safe
 
no... hit the jump then talk lol... u have to tuck from the top to clear it and adding more pop makes you clear less distance... learn physics
