With recent spikes in gas prices, I have been asking my self, why isnt anyone bitching out these big corporations like exxon? I found the answer in our oil bathing government, where even a company like exxon can run the people's income into the ground with outrageous gas prices. So while exxon is making milions of dollars a day (and becoming the richest fortune 500 company around), we the people need to be doing something.

So next time you go to the gas pump, dont go to Exxon or Mobil, go to a smaller station if you can. And if you really must go to a monopolizing corporation for your gas, only get about $10 in gas.

Only get $10 in gas because of the supply and demmand factor. This is because you dont want to gas companies to seel their gas in bullk, showing them that the gas is not in such great demand, making the price go down.

its not the government, its wordlwide oil supply. its called supply and demand. people need it so they price it higher because its a necessity (pretty much).
 
are you joking me??? that would make no difference AT ALL. the US, currently, is pretty much run on gas. without gas we are fucked. until all the new technological cars come out just live with it. i guarantee you wont change anything. everyone needs gas, you cant deny it
 
I agree with you when you say that the US is running on gas, but i dont agree that we should sit around and watch to see what happens, until all of the oil sources are gone and the US falls apart.

this is the actual time where we need to pre empt anything. We need to start feeding off of this food obsessed culture and start running our cars on vegetable oil. think about it. its a reusable, clean source that runs in cars we already have. i dont see why you wouldnt so it, instead of dealing with paying $50 to fill up your gas tank everytime your car is out of gas.

i really like the idea of this, but there is many flaws in this plan. First no matter were you buy your gas your giving money to a huge coperation like Exxon. Little gas stations that dont have a Exxon sign out in front of them may still but their gas from Exxon and just not sell it under the Exxon Mobile name. In the end your going to be giving your money to some huge douche bag coperation. then its going to exucitives and rulers/ presidents of middle eastern countries. Then they are going to spend it some worthless shit.
 
^thats why you get an alternative fuel for your car, like WVO and use as little gas as necessary.

My gov teacher told our class today that every day, the head of exxon makes $110,000 in his retirement. thats a bunch of bull shit when this asshole is making us pay over $3.00 a gallon.

Also, today I had less then a quarter tank of gas left so i stopped to get some, but there were signs that said no gas. so i went to another station and there were signs that said no regular gas. at this point im getting a little nervous cause i dont wanna run out and finally the last one i find has gas left. its really scary that gas stations are running out. kinda reminds me of the 1970's and gas rationing.
 
Exxon's profits for 2005 according to Forbes magazine were 38.5 BILLION dollars. and thats PURE PROFIT! Thats probably more than my countries GDP, and they have it just sitting around in thier pockets.

also while we're at it, why not boycott china? their political system is terrible, the human rights violations over there are unbelievable, yet we still trade with them because they make children work all day to make toys for our children to play with, and its cheap. but hey! they're turning more capitalistic! maybe democracy will follow, except it hasnt in the last 30 or so years that it's been moving towards capitalism. i'm sick of the US caring more about capitalism than democracy. i mean come on, practice what you preach. bah.

except oil companies shouldnt be benefiting off of the higher prices, which is why it makes sense to tax the shit out of oil company profits. And also, if you are going to jack up gas prices, you need to make sure you are providing a readily available alternative.
 
How can you be content with the way oil companys rape the consumers, do your parents pay for your gas?

with gas, you have no alternative, you HAVE to buy it, so the companies, who by the way are not dumb, are making huge profits because of the NEED of gas..

i have so much to say about this topic considering i drive a fucking gas guzzler myself with no money to buy a little car. FOR ONE, there is no way that was written by the coca cola company guy because why would he say TWO companies exxon and mobil when its one company lmao. hes not ignorant.

gas in my town is now 3.19. 3 fucking 19. thats fucking nuts. i remember back in like 98/99 when i moved upstate from the bronx it was like 1.50. anyway the gas companies for some reason can raise gas prices but its not bush's fault. just because he's republican doesn't mean he hates poor people. i'm middle class and these gas prices hurt like a bitch. i work at mcdonalds and make shit money and takes me 15 minutes to get there at 65mph. it used to cost me 5 dollars to and from and thats when gas a was cheap 2.50 lmao. now when its 3.10 or whatever it takes 5 there 5 back. then 5 to school then 5 home. so theres 20 in a day thats considering i don't go out at night and shit. so i work monday's tues and wen. thats 60 dollars! my packchecks come out to 89! my twin works too though. but somethings got to give!

there are new laws coming out though. gas must have a certain amount of ethanol or something. like 10%, some shit. i saw on cnn that will make it 7 cents cheaper. WOWOW. my opinion is the goverment should really look in to vegtable and hydrogen. hydrogen is one of the most abundant gases around. (i'm failing chemistry) i think the car companies should make cars like this and make them luxurious yet AFFORABLE. no reason why i should have to pay 15000 for a car. i think they would make a lot of money. but the demand would be high and supply low causing high prices. lmao so either way where can we win? i think they should use gas for goverment reasons. cops, ambulances, mail man etc. everyone else, use something smarter, stuff better for air and cheaper.

boycotting wouldn't work. you just need to have use it.

i hate when smaller businesses go out business by mainstream cooperations like rogers, completely knocking away my local neigbourhoods movie rental store.

now all we have is the newest on the market bullshit movies for rediculous prices.

i liked being able to go rent something made in 1990, watch it, and enjoy it.
 
Shell finnished the last quarter with a 30million$ profit...i don't think that is fair to charge us up the ying yang, and they are still making 30mill profit....just a thought

First off all I am a petroleum engineer so I have thought about this a lot. Second OPEC is the only multinational coporation that does not abide to federal and internatonal law concerning oil prices. Ok now about gas itself. All gas you buy at the pump is exactly the same. It all comes though a pipeline to your local distribution center. Often times the gas that Exon produces might be sold at a conico station. That said it is probable to buy your gas at a different station so do it if you dont like a company then go buy your gas elseware. The sad truth however is that big oil companies do not decide the price of gas! A grouping of private and goverment official along with regional and corporate officials from every company decide the price of gas. The truth is gas is an extreamly valuable resource. Its called fucking captialism thats the way it works. You fuckers are lucky im not in charge of the price of gas because it would be easily five bucks and I would have no remource. If you want to save money on gas drive less you ass hole and buy a more fuel efficient car. Not just the big companies are making money everyone is making a lot of money which is primarly pumped into the US economy. Oil companies want customers and they will continue to be fair about prices. They are just companies they are not evil infact alot of the people are sick as hell. They are not trying to ruin america so relax and dont shit yourself everytime you have to payan additional 5 bucks on a tank of gas.

Bottom line if you want to save money on gas drive less and realize that you cant do shit to change the price. And if you really want to make a difference become a lab rat chem e and invent an alternative fuel that no one will use.

How about bill gates who pust about 4 mill in his pocket. Why dont you boycott microsoft work which cost what $50.

There is enough oil on this planet to completly harvest it and then by the time every last drop is consumed it would start forming again. With the technology we have now we generally get about 10-40% recovery from a well. There is enough oil locked up in oil shale to run this planet for about 100 years.

And lastly how about global warming? Hey I woulden mind some beach frun property in Airzona haha.
