Will we use the qwerty keyboard in the future?

i mean like it was invented to slow typists down during the typewriter era.. we dont use typewriters now our keys can't get stuck
i switched my computer to dvorak a couple years ago (ive gone back to qwerty due to social and professional reasons..) but it was a fucking breeze when i was on it, so many words made sense on the keys, you would never use one hand to type a whole word, like each vowel was at your right hand fingertips

i donno are we still going to use qwerty in 50 years? knowing how dated the technology was when they created the keyboard
think about how long you type per day, switching to dvorak or another faster keyboard layout would probably increase you 20 wpm (mavis beacon anyone?), that shit would add up

A lot of programmers use dvorak keyboards, ive thought about getting one on several occaisons, but if I buy one or sticker one or whatever, kind of a pain. Its on the list though~

I just wikipedia'd that also. Pretty sweet but I just don't know if I could switch. Actually at this point I could probably switch because I am still relatively young, but it would take me a significant amount of time I think.

it takes 2 weeks to get used to dvorak..
just go on IM a lot, and try some papers

its honestly worth it, be prepared for the big switch bitchesssz

scientists have found keyboards that are way more effective but no body wants to change because they are used to qwerty

with the DVORK keyboard i would be so confused for a while cuz im so used to typin on a QWERTY style board. in the future i think we should have monkey's to type for us!

I thought I read somewhere that they did a study and found that that type of keyboard would not be any faster.

dude, that would totally fuck with WASD! i'd have to reconfigure all of the controls in my games! fuck that i don't have time for that shit i'm too busy pwning n00bs! /nerd claim

so i just switched my keyboard to dvorak and its taken me at least 2 minutes to write this much, o make that 3... so weird!!!

i can basically type anything with my eyes closed and do it pretty fast. i never look at the keys, just the screen. not claimin, just sayin that after all these years of using it ive gotten used to it, so switching would be the biggest pain in the ass and would take me longer to learn and much longer to type all my shit
