Will we see a triple from Elias at KOS????

Taken from the Dec. Issue of Freeskier Interview by Shay Williams

When Elas was asked,

"What do you think about triples at the City Big Airs?" by Shay Williams, he replied......... "I'm pretty sure that we will see one triple...but I don't know if I'm going to do one. If I do, I'm going to do one in Sweden. It's the biggest city big air" Elias Ambuhl

So, will we or won't we see a triple at this weekend's King Of Style. Do you care?? I think it would be crazy to see off a City Jump. Maybe not much style, but crazy spin none the less. We'll see what happens.
 
Will we see one , yes. will it be in any way cool, no. will it win KOS, yes.

Considering he dub 10 or 12'ed that 20 foot booter at Red Bull Playstreets, I'd imagine he could probably do one on a city big air jump. I can't imagine it will look all that good, and I hope he doesn't win with it.

Have you seen a city setup in person? They're like 50ft. jumps....

I sort of get the sense that you're somewhat new to immersing yourself in "freeski culture" or whatever the hell you want to call it, but as a fan of Wallisch and skiers of that ilk, what's to like about a triple flippy spinny off of a tiny jump?

I feel like a triple on a big city air isn't too far off from athletes wearing star spangled capes, jumping through flaming hoola hoops and having girls in bikinis laying in the landing. In other words, pure spectacle conceived for the lowest common denominator of fans.

But, since you mentioned Elias specifically, I will say that if anyone were to make the attempt, it'd be that guy.

I think I just need to realize that I'm not at all the target audience of these "exhibitions", and that they're put on for the clueless and for the sake of sponsors marketing to a larger, broader audience.
 
this part actually sounds like an improvement upon the current model of city big airs
 
It would be real sick to see but considering how fast they have to dub twelve I can't imagine how fast they would have to triple, it would probably be a major huck too, but still would be sick to see
 
1) It's only a "big deal" because it's never been done on a City Jump.

2)Yes, I have seen a city jump at the London Freeze, but that wan't as big, so I realize the danger of throwing such a trick on that size jump. If anyone can do it, or have the gutts, it would be Elias, and a few others.

3)I don't consider myself all that new anymore.Where did I say I like triples. I was simply creating thread that in your opinion is not a big enough deal to post about. I'll go back to the kitchen.

well, with that level of sensitivity/defensiveness, maybe you should.

And as far as "liking triples", the 4 "?" led me to think so.
 
elias is gonna huck as big as the jump will let him. my guess is he will win with a helicopter style dub cork of some kind.
 
its not gonna happen. There is no way that the jump will be even close to the size of the Xgames big air - and to triple that was tite squeeze. Dubs on CBA jumps are already hucked enough.
 
Elias already has some god awful style.

I think he can only mute grab. To me elias brings no positive progression to the sport. All this new tranny finding stuff is really what is unique to me. Getting creative in the park sick grabs with crazy rotations. Jibbing trees in the BC. All that stuff. Dubs are fine triples just make this sport insane. Sure they are cool but there is so much more you can do before triples. Look at casabon. The way he rides rails is insane. Some of his rotations/grabs have never been done before. Henrik and Casabon are taking the sport in the RIGHT direction.

Im sure elias is a great guy but he is pushing the sport in the wrong direction. I dont want to see a fucking triple cork 18 million for fuck sakes.
 
as you stated elias doesnt have the best style. so why would you want him doing shit b and e do? i personally like the fact that elias can go do trips and b and e can go do tranny finders and the sport is pushed in EVERY direction. isnt that better?
