Will Volant go out of business?

I have a feeling that Volant wont stick around. Just think, when was the last time you ever had Volant skis pop into your mind. I just remembered them. But if they go out, where will McConkey go? Nordica? He rides the boots.

i thought they got bought out by some other company, and thats why they arnt makin metal skis anymore, or maybe i need to lay off

Volant is currently still making skis. Their twins are now made by Elan and have a normal top sheet. As for how long they'll be around. Two big names who left Volant in the past year or so said that the owner of Volant is known for buying up companies and then slowly winding them down and either selling them off or shutting them down. So who knows. They may just remain a smaller ski company that does well where they're at.

FOCUS you mind.

i heard that volant all ready went out of business. and got bought out by some small canadian snowboard company. but elan very well could be making their skis. because if you remember the great ski company HART which made the best mogul and acro skis out there. Hart ahd their skis were made by atomic. which if you dont know is out of austria.

volant had a bunch of reps talkin there stuff up on a demo day we had, dont know if that means much as whether they r in or out of buisness

Yeah, and for those of you that don't know..Gen-X is the company that makes all of those shitty brands out there, oxygen, vison, lamar and limited snowboards, and a lot of other shit that you will find in places like Sportcheck and Sport Mart. Personally, I don't think that Volant will be on the market for many more years to come.

You should belive everything you read on the internet, it's all true.

haha, no more Spatulas. seriously, McConkey may think he's on to the next big thing but you CANNOT ski those skis on anything other than pow. any groomer or anything else, all you can do is just slide down sideways.

its because they dont have any realy special tecnolgy its some pressed wood and some other shit formed into a long verly narrow board with tips on both ends, you can only regulate teh stiffness other then that you cant make a ski that much diffrent then all the ones out there right now

gaffney isn't on volant, he's on pocket rockets and public enemy's. as for volant, mckconkey should giv them the shaft and ride for armada, armada needs big mountain people. seth should ride them too, then they would have the best team ever

ya if I were seth I'd totally drop my pro model on k2 for armada..lol right..

i was just saying that the armada team would be an invincable monster if they had seth and shane. and i didn't say anything bout the gaffney brothers, neither of them ever had a contract with any company, they just got free skis. they don't wanna be pro skiers, they wanna do there own thing

Seth will stay where he is at for the rest of his career. K2 is so good to him it sucks. Armada is crap. Just a new small company. Well they aren't crap. I take that back. But let them stick with the riders they got. They have one of the best teams out there. Other than K2.

Let me inform you gossip clowns with the real info. Yes, Volant skis was bought out buy Gen X Sports which is a Canadian company located in Toronto, Canada. Gen X Sports was aquired by Huffy USA within the past year. As far as all the manufacturing goes, the '69' twin tip is currently being manufactured by Elan in Slovenia. This twin resembles the Elan twin with different graphics and construction. It is quite soft in the tail which makes it amazing for buttering and for skiing pipe. This twin is a huge step for Volant since the durability of their skis in the past wasn't the greatest due to the steel top sheet. These twins are not steel. Sandwich construction and rivoted tips and tails to prevent delamination. The rest of the Volant line is being manufactured in Austria by Atomic. The new line is bomb proof. What you people need to realize is that Volant is not the ski compnay which is marketing to jibbers. They are the ski for the babyboom generation and not ours. Unfortunately this is the case for them. The 'weekend warrior' which skis Aspen and Vail ten times a year is their customer. Freeskiing and jibbing, is not their number one market of concern, maybe it should be. They manufacture a ski to place themselves silently into that market, but they are not looking to achieve a huge market there. The Spatula is one of the best skis to be created ever. If you have something to say about it without skiing it, the you should stick your foot in your mouth. It will be the tool to advance skiing to the 'next level.'

I hope that this has been helpful. Volant is here to stay.

woo hoo! hear that guys! volant is here to stay!

yeah.... even though the spatulas are tight... no one who would ski on them could afford to waste the money on them... theyre useless. therefore, volant is useless.
