Will there ever be another Candide Thovex

there's no need for another candide. he is pretty much the best skier ever.

but I do think Sammy C. is right up there next to him.

I think Sean Pettit is up there, too.

Not sure where Tanner Hall would be if he bad avoided the double-knee blowout. Tanner is/was amazing, but I'm not quite sure he's got the same fearless mentality that Candide has in the backcountry.

But I think those are my Top 4 of all time.
 
Sure Candide is on another level, but to say there will never be another like him is pretty naive. even now I think there are some guys out there that are close to him. I think most people on here don't want to look past the fog that surrounds him. That being said Candide is still the biggest bad ass out there
 
As soon as Henrik wins the FWT, or Heitz wins X Games big air, then perhaps someone else is in the conversation. Oh, and they have to be like national champ in moguls too. And revolutionize a sport along the way. Then maybe let's talk.

Hopefully another Candide Kamera. I would love to see another Few Words, but that requires a huge backing and without Quiksilver I don't see that happening unless Red Bull signs him. Who is his eyewear sponsor? I guess Oakley or Smith could sponsor a two year project if they were to sponsor him.
 
If ski design changes significantly, then his relevance will decrease. I mean there must be tons of people that could smash Plake and Schmidt if they got in a time machine to ski with them... it's because of equipment advances and being clued into the sport's progression. That doesn't mean any of these guys have contributed less to the sport.

The only thing that could really slow this process is if people become too sickly, weak and brain-dead to have the ability to do it.
