I think it would be cool. There are quite a few Am videos with both. And especially now when skiers are gaining respect and are on traditionally snowboarding companies like Grenade, Anon, R.E.D., and a whole bunch of others.

Like Andy said, Ostness was a lover, he had all sorts of rad single plank dudes in his movies. Also the Park City C-Crew snowboarders will have a segment in Pop Yer Bottlez. Should be interesting to see how it flows.

that would be sweet and no there are not that many however warren miller makes films with both skiers and smowboarders alike

ya TGR does it every year. usually it is primarily skiing, but they throw in the few snowboard segments.

I mean like an Oakley team video with both their skiers and snowboarders, but not like the Helly Hanson one where its basicly two videos in one.

Like say if Grenade made a video with a 10 or 11 guys, half and halfish.

 
it would be cool to have one movie with like all the top guys from ski and snowboard, but the thing is that if people like it, companies are gonna start making more of this type of movie, and then we'll get bored fast. but just one would be nice.

not including warren miller here; ostness definately had the sport mingling in his movies...but aside from a few people, do you really think those videos were recognized at all in the snowboard world? if it were that barrier breaking, then we'd have the kind of video that would be revolutionary.

boarder/skier segregation on any level is foolish. i love riding with snowboarding buds. sure i'd rather watch skiing in a video, but i definitely respect and enjoy solid boarding segments. hell, i watch plenty of board videos. hopefully we'll see lots more high end crossover movies sooner than later.

i love to ski with my snowboard buddies. they arent caught up in all the stupid im better you stuff, they are all about having fun, and they are a really good influence on me as they are ridiculously smooth

i'd like to see a mainstream jib and parkcore movie with both. a la revenge of the grenerds/afterlame meets high five/wicked.... along those kind of lines. but as a skier AND a snowboarder i really don't see that happening.... not to point fingers but the snowboarders are pretty anti-skiers at those tiers.

But yeah I don't think a ski/snowboard movie would work unless it was done with top quality snowboarders, probably done by a snowboard company like Grenade, or Burton. Lots of skiers ride for R.E.D. and Anon, subdivisions of Burton. I don;t think a ski company like K2 could make a credible video with skiers and snowboarders though.

It would be best if it was a crew, not just a bunch of skiers who ride together and a bunch of snowboarders who ride together and then at the end of the year they give their footage to someone, but it would be sweet to see the guys hit some of the same stuff and chill together... I dunno, I think thats cool.

 
I know grenade sponsors skiers. But not publicly. I''m not talking out of my ass. They don't list their sponsored skiers on their site, and they don't promote their sponsored skiers. It's like a dirty little secret for them. When asked about, Grenade has gone on the record saying they don't want to because they want to preserve their image as a core snowboard brand, and if any of their ultra cool snowboard consumers find out that, oh good gosh golly, grenade sponsors skiers, they might lose customers. Grenade is a great company and they make some good gloves, but until they stop treating us like a dirty little secret and more like somebody they respect, they're just acting too cool for school.

There is no official team so I don't know the extent of it. I can say with confidence that Tanner and CR get hooked up by them. Possibly Stefan Thomas, but I honestly can't say for sure about him.

if there was to be some sort of oakley or anon or smith team video with both skiers and snowboarders, the only way it would really flow would be to have two or three cinematographers shoot for everyone. i mean, in all movies that combine the two sports, the footage for each is bought elsewhere and just slipped into the movie...it doesnt feel like its the same movie at all.

thats just because you cant relate to skiing powder. once upon a time before skiers became more and more like jibbing rollerbladers there was thing called skiing and you did it on a mountain that had never seen a snowcat and you didnt have to take pretty pictures of it. thats what tgr is all about.

how many times are people going to post the exact same reply to this thread. YEAH warren miller, tgr, helly hansen, and a few smaller scarttered films with both skiers and snowboarders.

but i'd like to see a few very mainstream movies, jib and park oriented with both big name snowboarders and skiers. when will we see DCP, CR, tanner, and danny kass all riding together? that would be supppppa sweet.

I wouldn't buy any movie with snowboarding.

I ski. I only care about skiing.

People with their feet tied together are not fun to watch.

YEah, like I'm saying, it would have to be a crew of both skiers and snowboarders to flow. You couldn't have them just bring in their own footage and then put it together. It wouldn't flow.
