Will Ski Boots Ever Change!!???!?

as many mentioned, theres a ton of reasons boots are the same as theyve been. but one, VERY IMPORTANT reason no one has mentioned yet, with your leather idea, is by gluing on leather, not only is it pointless addition of wieght, but it makes it next to impossible to do any boot fitting work. in a normal plastic shell, you can heat, stretch, and grind on it to your hearts content. if you put other materials on there, it limits your possibilities. boots like flexons and kryptons are plain looking, because it allows them to be easiest to work on. boots with dual injection materials are far less moldable.

Also, even thou you may think of skis/boots/bindings as high technology, they are actually incredibly basic. there may be some room for improvement, but at the same time, boots like Kryptons and Flexons, and bindings like the Look turntables will always be the benchmark for preformance. ergronomics and appearance changes often inhibit maximum performance (this train of thought is the reason my beloved TT heels are now replaced with FKXS heels). so yea, embrace the classic benchmarks of ski performance, they are basic, reliable, and ski better than anything pretty will.
