Will mounting AR7 -2.5 compromise park performance?

I just brought my brand new 2013 AR7s into the shop to get mounted, and they said they'd be done by the end of the week, so I'm guessing I have a day or two to decide.

I told the tech to mount them at -2.5 because they're a non-symmetrical ski, and that's the most forward mount that's still over the side cut. I'm going to be skiing Whiteface this year, which has great terrain and a solid Park (for New York).

Will mounting at -2.5 affect park performance significantly? This ski will be my everything ski, and I initially said - 2.5 cause I wanted to be able to ski Whiteface's hardpack with a nice cambered ski. My last ski was center mounted K2 Revivals.

And I know there are other threads on this question, I've read all of them, but I just need to know quickly for my situation!

no.
-2.5 is core center of the ski
mine are, and they perform excellent in the park. i like how stiff they are and having the extra nose while landing switch on large jumps anyway

Thanks for the input! Anyone else? Everyone that's told me to go more center hasn't skied the AR7, and I've seen a couple of good responses in other threads for -2.5, I just wanna be 100% sure in my decision.

i'd centre mount them, i've skied ar7s and thalls at centre and they ski fine. it obviously compromises the carving performance a tiny bit but i find that slight loss of performance far less annoying than the added swingweight of being at -2.5 in the park. If you are mostly skiing park, definitely centre. If it's 50-50 up to you, I'd still go centre but I like centred skis.

sometimes ive split the difference between the two cause let's face it, the mental effect is probably the biggest consideration.. "oh i have the best of both worlds"

Couple seasons ago I had AR7's and ended up pulling the binding out a few times. First I had it at -2.5 then centre then -1. I honestly couldn't tell the difference.

I had my thalls mounted at -2.5 first. I tried then and it was ok but I ended up remounting center and enjoyed them much more. I always skied on centered skis though so I think it's more what your used too.

I have AR 7's and center mounted them. If your looking for more all mountain then park, -1. As well, why are you asking this if you already are having them mounted at -2.5 back. Second guessing your decision?

Yeah I'm second guessing my decision, that's why I made this thread haha. I just wanna know how much of a difference the added swing weight will be between -2.5, -1.5, -1, etc. Or if there will be barely any difference at all. I'm getting a lot of different answers haha, and I know it comes down to preference, but I haven't skied park enough yet to know what my preference is.

Thanks for all the input though everybody!

don't worry about it or second guess it man, i re read the OP and for what you described youre mounting them at the exact right place

the ar7s are straight up killers that have been refined for years and mounting them where you are is perfect for what you said you'll be skiing, and you would NEVER notice "added swing weight" or whatever if someone hadn't put the idea in your head..

don't waste another second worrying about it, you're set up man
