Haha. Have you ever been to Yellowstone? The place is overcrowded with bison. Not only that but the park isn't even their natural habitat. The reason the bison were slaughtered is for population control. The same reason that Montana opened up a hunting season for them last year and the same reason the park service will let a small amount of hunters shoot the buffalo in Teton National Park.

I thought this was going to be a thread about how Bernanke needs to resign Paulsen need to get the boot for bankrupting our country even more under Bush's watch.
 
yeah, people just rip on bush because its bush like i dont think people understand our government enough because bush is not an all ruling power, not saying that hes innocent of everything, hell i dont like him, but i really think that people should think about what theyre saying before they blame bush
 
Im sure its a conspiracy with Bush and a bunch of flannel shirt wearing red neck conservatives on snowmobiles to go slaughter the bison just because they can.
 
Buffalo meat sucks anyway, people act like it's so great, but they're morons. I've had plenty of "exotic" meats, and buffalo is always dry and overpriced.
 
i never said anything about rednecks. the bush administration sanctioned it, hence the use of bushes name. i dont care if it a bunch of liberals, its the last free buffalo herd in the country and were killing them? seems fucked up to me
 
Meh... I beg to differ, I haven't had many meats other than standard game meats and standard red meats people buy but a buffalo burger is better than a beef burger in my opinion.
 
OK well regardless of that, its crazy to say that Bush would kill them "just because he can" . No matter how evil you think Bush is he has to have some motive other than "just because he can"

 
Im not sure if that was directed at me or not but wolves are being killed across the west because they are preying on livestock.
 
no to thread creator. i heard something like 60% of wolves are killed each year and come back, i couldnt find proof though.. i do know they are a huge threat to caribou and mooose populations
 
they need food, your taking out their territory. i can understand it to a point, but when your eliminating their land, and with that their food sources, they have to eat somehow.
 
ok sorry i suppose i should have worded that better, im sure he has a motive, whether or not it is valid or not i suppose is what it comes down to. it just seems wrong to me to be killing the last free roaming herd of buffalo in the country.

even if they wanted to allow SOME buffalo hunting, that would be possibly acceptable, but herding them in mass with snowmobiles... no

Their has been buffalo hunting in Grand Teton National Park for awhile now. Montana reopened the buffalo to hunting last year. Sure its the last free herd but it is getting way to big. I will email my cousin about this and see what he has to say, he is in his final year of graduate school to have a masters in wildlife biology at University of Wyoming. We have talked a little about it before but I dont want to post a bunch of stuff and look like a fool.

idk though, when i was at yellowstone, and somewhere in MT (cant remember) there were TONS of buffalo. (and i know this really doesnt mean shit, but from a first hand perspective there were tons)

hell, this stuff goes on all the time. the park district i work at one point was highering sharp shooters to come into the parks in the dark of night and "thin out" the deer population..... then some higher ups got wind of this and put the kibosh on that plan. but they still have deer hunts every other year at my park, and last year they killed over 100 deer in 2 days. this meat was not just thrown out either, it went to feed the homeless, and private hunters aswell.
 
there are tons of buffalo, but thats the only place they are. versus deer, which are everywhere.

People > Animals that means humans are better than animals and therefore animals can eat a dick. they're just fucking animals. and that video was worthless. sounded like a home made piece of shit with some tree hugging lib bitch as the commentator.
