Will 115 brakes work on a 89 ski?

So yeah basically the title, will they work, will I have to Bend them, or should I find a smaller brake size. Thanks

It’ll work but they might dig in turning and on rails if your peddling. I’d recommend finding a smaller break

Yeah that’s exactly what I don’t want on rails so I’ll find a smaller one.

anyone know how much of a pain it is to change brakes on look pivots and how expensive it would be?

It’s not super difficult from what my friends say also most shops have pivot brakes if they have look bindings

Hardly any shops carry pivot baseplates really. It's astounding how many shops are afraid to even work on that binding outside of mounting it.

If you need brakes, OP, hit me up. We have 95mm brakes that I could sell ya at a discount.

Oh not my experience maybe it’s just my local shop is the “freestyle” shop for our part of NY

yeah definitely try to get some B95s on there. 115 is too big, the overhang is annoying and imo possibly dangerous

honestly i think my B95 on my 96 waist ski overhang too much lol

Yea I have 115s on a 108. It’s kind of annoying, the 95s didn’t really work probably should’ve just got a different binding tbh. Def don’t put them on anything narrower

like nasty said, its pretty crazy how people refuse to swap and deal with pivots brakes. I swapped brakes amongst base plates and its really not hard.

for op, if theyre pivots def get the 95 mm. i had 115mm on a 100mm ski and i always found my brakes getting hung up on one another if i kept my feet close together.

How do you swap brakes from base plates? My friend has pivot 12s he’s been using for 5 years and he is way too big for them and they are clapped and I have fks 18s I’m selling to him but the brakes are 75mm and he rides edollos

pivot base & top is just 2 x pz3 screws, same screws as adjustment, just undo them, tada.

I knew to do that but His baseplates are cracked and chipped etc.

im wondering how to keep the fks baseplate and swap just the brakes, I know people have done it I just can’t figure out how. There was a thread about it a few months ago but I can’t find it

I used these two links as guides and it was pretty easy. once you get the baseplate off its a piece of cake. obviously you have to unmount them from the ski.

I can’t tell you how many horror stories I have from customers bringing pivots in because I work at the only shop in my area qualified to touch them (qualified in the experience sense, not the legal sense). I’m the only tech who knows the binding inside and out. Had a guy come in 2 weeks ago and his whole baseplate had come apart because he was trying to take the dildo off to change brake size. Putting them back together is stupid east but dude said he called 3 shops and they all said they didn’t, “work on pivots like that” whatever that means
