Wikileaks

Wrong...why exactly? Because it's going against what the government wants you to do? Morally or legally? Whose morals, whose laws? Should you be believing and swallowing everything yoru government tells you?

Also this information is Classified, and only classified. Regardless of what you may have heard, there are levels of classiciation higher than just Classified, and most information that could seriously compromise "national security" - a term that is being increasingly used interchangeably with "government security" - would be classified at a much higher level than what is available on SIPRnet.

Also these "at risk targets" that you speak of, are often determined from humint (human intelligence) or other forms of intelligence gathered from the extremist groups you speak of. They don't just randomly select places, and yes some may be preemptive considerations but if they have done their jobs correctly following these discoveries, then you have nothing to worry about.

No, I disagree wholeheartedly, with everything you just said. This "civilization" you speak of, is basically the US, and solely the US. Other countries are affected sure, but the States is taking the biggest hit of all of them, and yes it will significantly affect US trade, foreign policy, and the ability to produce and retain more sheep.

Your second paragraph does not make any sense. From your "Grand Perspective stand point" (what the hell is that anyways, like god's view from high up in the clouds?) this affects Middle Eastern relations with the UNITED STATES. The US does not represent the world - as much as it would like to, and strives to do - and what negatively affects the US does not necessarily affect the common good or the rest of the world, though your concern is greatly appreciated.

I would also like to refute your argument that all your public servants are acting with the best interest of the country in mind. In no way, is this true. Yes there are some people that do act to for the benefit of the country and you, the citizen, [sometimes] but a great number of, if not most, of your officials are corrupt in some way. By nature, their interest is to be reelected (even for "good people, since to do that good, they need to be in office) and they will do whatever needed to accomplish that goal. In fact, they don't always benefit when the country is "doing well" either. I could explain but I feel like I'd need to write an essay to do that.

Of course it has an impact on your American image. Whether that image does justice to what is actually going on behind your back, I'll leave you to decide.

Lastly, your economy is already so far down the shitter this probably won't have any significant impact on it, other than the fact that some people may be pissed at you and refuse to trade with you. Maybe you shouldn't have been doing whatever that pissed them off in the first place.

Good thing im not from the United States. "Grand perspective stand point" referes to examining a situation entirely without bias. In all honesty I was just trying to offer some opposition to the argument. You are undoubtably right in nearly every argument, however I just feel like a lot of people (Americans) are missing the point. that Wikileaks is detrimental to the already weakened image of the United Sates. When referring to "us" I meant Canadians, I assumed my icon was self explanatory.
But fair enough.

Hahaha well I completely missed your icon, thought you were American through and through! I definitely agree that a lot of people State-side are missing the point, they should be questioning the government's actions instead of criticizing the leak itself. The fact that it leaked can't be changed, but we can learn from the information now made available and hold our governments accountable.

Surprisingly though Canada hasn't taken that big of a hit from all this, we pretty much came through unscathed and the economy didn't budge at all.
