I am white. I am from seattle, which is NO mountain town. I enjoy listening to rap or hip-hop music because it's good, not because I wish I was black. I love the urban scene (whatever that's supposed to mean) because I'm part of it. Two good friends of mine are in a local hip-hop group and we go to all their shows and others' shows around here. We also go to open mics, where I'm not only an audience but a performer. I am not black. I do not wish I was black.

I know you weren't talking to EVERYONE on here, but I think my explanation could go for most. Most of us don't live in 'mountain towns.' We listen to what we feel, for no other reason than that. We act/dress/talk (whatever) how we want. Why does a certain way have to be defined as 'black,' so that if white people do this they are 'wiggers?' Labels like that are messin stuff up all over the place. Look at skiing.
