Wife's skis - did I make a mistake?

wife: 5'6, 130lb, skied once 3 year ago(that was my first time too), and I finally got her into skiing this year(win!). A friend was selling a pair of 163 K2 Lotta Luv(2010-11 model I think?) w/binding for 250 and I jumped on it. I think this should work out since she's taking lessons at killington, and I'll let her use rentals since for beginner 163 is too long for her. but after she's done with classes I think she's going to progress fast and 82 waist/163cm with some tip rocker should fit her fine length-wise. granted it's nothing "bomb" or "cool" but I think this should work out. OTOH, this other skiing girl I talk to is against this idea and they insist that 163 is too long and 250 is not that good of a deal. NS, what do you say?

I'd score it a "meh" deal. You certainly could have gotten something better used for that, but it fits the bill.

They're ok skis but I would say that 163 is at the upper limit of what she should be on. They are incredibly soft though, so she should be fine. I'd just roll with it.

It may be a little too much ski for her. It's not the softest ski out there so it won't be overly forgiving and the length may be a bit too much.

I think 163 will be a fine length. The first few times she rides them she'll might be a little overwhelmed, but after that they'll be fine.

Edit - I know that 163 is long for a beginner, but that's not my intention to start with - she will be on rentals for classes and maybe 1-2 days after that, and my intention is buying something that can we hold on for a couple years before upgrading to some good stuff.
