so i was out skiien at my lacal park one day and i went off a 35 40 or so foot kicker and came up short. I knew i was going to come up short so i kinda pointed my tips up and got ready to die. I hit real hard as i expected and started screaming that i broke both my ankles. When i finally stoped i felt a pretty bad pain in my left ankle, but i could still walk on it. I layed in the snow with snow on it for awile and then just kept on skiing. When i got home it hurt really bad after i took off my ski boots. Its been a week now and it still is sore but i can walk on it but it really hurts. Theres no bruising, or swelling or anything, it just hurts when i walk on it. The pain is not in my ankle, or foot, just my heal. When i squeez it there is pain where the top of the heel meets my ankle. Pleez give advice. I want to try to ski wendsday this week?

It is heel.

I came up short on a jump last April. Screwed my fat pad. And my heel still hurts and will most likely continue to hurt until next october. 8*(

Your injury will probably take about 3 weeks until 100%. Let it your heel heal. Do NOT go skiing until you are better.

You can still ski, just take it easy. That happened to me 2 seasons ago, just do NOT do any jumps or rails until it heals. Just do regular runs and do some butters if you can. Just go down the runs and work on your technique and take it slow and just enjoy yourself. It gives you time to work on skiing switch and such.

Yeah, it usually hurts a lot more when you're just at home chilling and you decide to mess with it. Whenever you decide to go skiing, it'll probably hurt for a run or two, but you won't notice it after a little while. I don't think there's anything to really worry about.

ive done it two seasons in a row one smashing into a ditch bank and caseing a jump. took a few weeks to get better. just take it easy and let teh bitch heal. othere than that theres nothing you can really do

in likelyhood a combination of

A) bruising of the calcaneal fat pad (thats the soft bit beneath your heal)

B) jarring of the talocrural and/or sub talar joint.

it should heal up in a week or two, three if you really hit hard. any longer (or if your having trouble walking outside of ski boots) and it might be worth getting an xray.

enjoy

dont ski on it for atleast 2 weeks. 1 day of skiing will wreck the recovery. On a side note, atleast you didnt hurt your ankle my going forward. Last year i tore my heel from my leg

Well thanks for the advice. It hurts even more than usual this morning. I guess i'm gonna try to ski on it wendsday and just try to take it easy. Its really gonna hurt %(

that happened to me last year just don't hit jumps for a bit just work on rails and it will heal but it takes a bit

I did the exact same thing is you. I kept skiing which wasn't smart cause it kept coming back everytime i jarred it. I basically had the pain for half of last season. Finally i went to a sports doctor and he told me i had a stress fracture. They didn't cast it or anything but he told me to stay off it for 3 weeks so I did and it hasn't bugged me since.

I came up short last winter and put a two inch crack down the center of my heel. If it still hurts after a few days, get that shit checked out.

i really don't think its fractured because when i stand it it it hurts but i can stand on it on one foot. And if theres a fracture it would be swollen and black and blue i guess?

No a stress fracture isin't really considered a fracture its from to much pressure on a bone at a time which causes a small hairling almost impossible to pick up on x ray, If I were you id ski normally with no jumps or rails for atleast 2 weeks and go from there.

You probably shouldn't ski too hard on it. Maybe you shouldn't ski at all. Just take it easy and see what happens.

Ankles. Broke! AHHHHHH. Fuck!!!!! Broke. Ankles!!!!! I've got broken ankles!!!!!!!!!!! "He's got broken ankles."

That's what I thought of when you said you were screaming you had broken ankles.

Sounds like what i got when i jumped off a roof, it should just go away eventually but seeing a doc wouldnt be a bad idea if its really painful

^^^ wise... but ya i had the same thing last summer and it was out for like a good 2 weeks
and couldn't even put a ski boot on at water ramps
