Widsom Tooth Surgery?

I'm having widsom tooth surgery on thursday, and I'm just looking to see if anybody else has had it and what I should expect. Only three of my friends have had it, and they said it absolutley sucks.

make sure you keep ice on your face for a good part of the day for three days, cause your face is gonna swell like crazy, but putting it on will help keep the pain and swelling down later on. the pain is the worst the first three days, after that it gets better, and seriously, take your valium or whatever they give you on regularly, even if you have to get up at 3 in the morning, cause if you let up on that stuff just once you are going to pay for it.

sleep as much as possible. dont do a lot of talking for the first few days. after i got mine out, i felt ok and went to hang out with my friends, just taking it easy and playing video games. i paid for that shit with a day of hell after that. rent a bunch of movies cause you should stay on your couch for two days at least.

also get a shitload of applesauce, yogurt, and broth. the speed and intensity of your recovery will depend on how many teeth you get taken out at once. i got all four removed at the same time, and i was down for about five days of taking it easy. just be thankful your getting them out in the summer, i had to come home from jay peak to get mine out.

That about sums it up.

I looked like a chipmunk for a week after I had all of my wisdom teeth pulled. Thank god for painkillers. Good luck!

yea all of the above sounds right. mine hurt like anything, get ur hands on as many meds a possible. watch movies an try keep ur mind off it. weed worked well for me, cause it took my mind off it. btw luaghing hurts so dont get comedies, docos would be good.

ya, i got put to sleep for mine and woke up loopy as fuck. the pain was straight up shitty but the pain killers definitely help so dont forget to take those. soft foods are clutch, smoothies and milkshakes kill two birds with one stone, they taste good and they give your mouth a soothing chill as well.

godspeed.

sort of off topic but,

i read somewhere that in around 14- 18 year olds now there is almost 30% less wisdom teeth than before, and theres even less appearing in younger generations. so apparently were evolving away from them. some wild shit

(dont quote me on this shit i might be off on the stats)

haha i forget whose story it was, but there was a hilarious one about wisdom teeth and constipation.

searchbar that shit

i got all 4 out about a week n a half ago. wasnt too bad. i ate a bunch mac n cheese. i thought the worst part was the 3rd-through the 5th day. i can eat whatever now and its not a problem

depends on if they are impacted or not. none of mine were impacted so it wasn't that bad. just a little bit of swelling but definitely not chipmunk status. got mine done on a monday morning and was back at school thursday.

take hella vicodins its some good shit it sucks not being able to eat regular food for a week thats the worst part and you feel like your jaws broken

percocets!!!!!

wisdom teeth sucks but it could be worse... you just need to make sure not to stress it beaus remeber it is an open sore for your mouth and it might bleed...

just keep it clean and dont let it get infected...no super hot stuff or super cold stuff right on the wound and you shoud be okay.

isn't one of the most epic threads on NS about the aftermath of wisdom teeth? I searched wisdom teeth and holy shit there are a lot of threads. Where is that really funny one though?

Vicodin will save your life. Honestly. It will make you just wanna lay there and watch movies/listen to music which is good because you aren't supposed to do physical activity for a week after surgery.

I have to get all four out - 2 are totally impacted

- so i'ts oral surgeon + general anaesthetic for me. PLus i stupidly looked at a youtube vid of the surgery.

i just got 2 out and im getting my last two sometime this month. it really isnt hard at all. i would strongly not reccomend general anesthesia. it costs so much more to get it and its completely pointless. plus there are cases where people dont wake up. i got local anesthesia and i didnt feel shit, just him pulling on my teeth. the worst part is the needles for sure. after the surgery it hurts and ur head might start to hurt. just eat ice cream whenever that happens, it really cheers you up. the next day you should be much better. pretty much the next day i had nothing hurt really, just the occasional annoyance. 3 days later i was all good. i took no painkillers or anything.

i wouldnt do 4 at a time. thats just fucked up.

choose the option that you want to go all out during the surgery. you will jsut wake up in a room and have no clue where you are. once your done with the surgery take the pain pills immediately. although for me it did not hurt until 5 hours after the surgery. but it might take some time for the pills to kick in. dont expect to be fully back to normal within 1.5 weeks any other questions you can pm me. and by the way the youtube videos make it look way worse than it actually is

I plan on getting absolutley knocked out. But before I hit the gas, I'm going to tell the dentist that if I don't wake up I am going to haunt you for the rest of your life.

cant believe it took someone this long to post this.

for me it really wasnt that bad. I did throw up but I got kinda drunk the night before and you are not supposed to drink or eat anything after like midnight the night before but I kinda forgot once I was drunk. Other than that, I was able to hang out with my friends that night and I think I might have been eating real food the night after that. Its different for everyone though.

The surgery went great yesterday. The nurse happened to be a family friend, and the dentist happened to be a big fan of the high school football and lacrosse teams I'm on. All I remember is getting sleepy on this IV, then waking up with my dad telling me the Brewers hit 4 home runs when he walked into the room. I wasn't in that much pain, I hardly took any painkillers also. The bleeding stopped around 9 this morning, my mouth is still a little bit swollen, but everything went perfect, the teeth were tooken out easily the doctor said, and they said that it was one of the best surgeries they have ever done.
