Widespread Panic is the greatest band of all time

After seeing them for 3 consecutive nights at bonaroo a couple years back they've lost their gloriousness for me... they are a good band though.

any one going to bonnaroo?

2 of my favorite bands are playing widespread and tool. should be a sicjk party

bonnaroo is going to suck this year, and will get progressively worse. Widespread panic can barely make it worth going to, its that bad

Wakarusa and 10,000 lakes are going to be where its at.

However best music festival is Ski Jam in Steamboat.

in my opinion (and it is just that, an opinion) all panic songs sound the same, all their jams sound the same, you cant tell what the hell john bell is singing, and basically (again just my opinion) theyve been playing one big endless song for their entire career. now, dont get me wrong, i do enjoy listening to them occasionally (i actually really like the song "pickin up the pieces"), but if i listen to too much, it all starts sounding the same. in terms of "jam bands" i would take phish or the dead any day of the week. of course, schools is the man, and sunny ortiz is pretty sweet too. guess theyre just not my cup' o tea

umphrey's mcgee is ridiculous. i think they are the best jam band just because they are nasty, and still young. bands like gov't mule and phil lesh and friends are good, but they are on their way out. and if you rank bands on how well they play together, either the wailers or talking heads are "the greatest band of all time", simply because their sound cannot ever be imitated well

there was a thread about the greatest band ever a few days ago...

and it was pretty obvious the consensus was the best are:

Zepp

Beatles

Floyd

widespread transcends the stifling categorization of a band, its that and a way of life.

smokin nugs, wearing patagonia and kavu visors, fly fishing, and shit

widespread is pretty good....sadly, whenever i hear of them I think about the 1st bonaroo they played at a couple months before one of their original guitarist past away. real sad. they played Blue Indian...that song really moves ya w/ his solo in it.

does anyone here listen to bruce hornsby? his stuff is amazing. He played with the dead. Anyways, I have an amazing cover he did of the dead tune scarlet begonias...it is freaking good and I will gladly send it to anyone.

you also need to listen to The Duo...freakin nasty...their shit is so good. they played with gordo a couple years ago and did a sick mike's song at the end...its on archive...just search.

umphrey's owns too...i have quite a few of their podcasts...download their stuff off their site...its like perfect quality stuff.

so i was just thinking of how i mentioned 4 jam bands....and neither of them sound alike....so whoever said all jams sound the same is a little off base in my opinion.

ive never heard of them so i just listened to a couple songs on itunes and they blow dude. seriously. kid above me who said hed rather hump a cheese grater is on the right track

uhhh listen to them live, maybe if you werent such a faggot park rat ghetto peter olenick wannabe you would actually enjoy good music

And you pretty much have the entire outdoorsy, hippy, yuppie, and Fratty communities that disagree with you

their best songs in no particular order:

Surprise Valley

Disco

Travelin Light

Ain't Life Grand

Pilgrims

The Waker

action man

Sorry this isnt shitty dancehall or underground rap

have the entire outdoorsy, hippy, yuppie, and Fratty communities that disagree with you

please be joking me with that statement. youre labeling everyone "outdoorsy" as now listening to trash?

this thread sucks. and i like most of panic's music. floyd is the greatest band of all time. black crowes - greatest american band.
