Wide ski boots

right now i have the dalbello rampage ski boots and they're completely killing my ankles.. i've tried having shops put padding in and having them stretching but after a day or two of riding they ended up feeling the same. it feels like i'm hitting my ankle off the corner of a wall anytime i go over any bump .. i'm at the point where i think i'm just going to trade them in and get some money for them and put it towards another pair of boots.. any suggestions ? i heard the spk's were pretty wide, i really may be wrong though.

( i searched barred this but couldn't really find much)

sparknotes : boots killing ankle, tried having boots fitted did not work, looking to get rid of boots and get new pair.

what i believe has happened is that the rampage, as all the kryptons have a narrow ankle pocket, and come with a poor liner. first you need to veryify the shell fit at the ankle to make sure there is some room there, also that the boot is properly canted. if all this is fine the problem is the trufit liner, i had the same problem, that i was able to wear the ankle out of it within a few days. the solution and i had to do this, is get a pair of intuition silver or gold liners. also if you fit well in the 98 last of a rampage you'll be swimming in spk's.

if you're having ankle problems, get a footbed. simply padding a pressure spot will do nothing but place added pressure on your ankle. basically what is happening is your foot is pronating (aka rolling inwards) and adding a pressure point. punching out the ankle will not help without a footbed.

Word, footbeds are the shit. Even just the $40 ones at my shop are amazing.

The Kryptons are actually kind of a narrow boot. Not as narrow as the stats say, but still...why'd you get those? Did you have them fitted?

i tried on the kreations and loved them yesterday, i think i may go with them for the price and feel

A great boot. It was between those and the SPK for me, but I found SPK's for so cheap I had to get them.
