Wide Angle Lens

Okay so I just bought a 0.5x wide angle lens for my video camera and... it sucks. it has no where near the amount of bend like I have seen on here, NS. I think I am going to return the 0.5x lens and buy a 0.6x lens off the net. Will that be much of a differance? I would get a 0.7x lens but those cost like $100 more.. so, I was wondering what size wide angle lenses you guys use and if you could like post a pic or a link of a video you took with yours so I get an idea of size vs. quality of the zoom/bending that the lens does.

Oh yeah I have a 25mm Sony Handycam (model DCR-HC21) If that helps.

just buy the cheap wideangle sony makes.. unscrew the end. and pop out the lens.. then flip it over and rescrew the ring on.. voila... fisheye.. like 160degrees of view..

get .43x thats fisheye. thats what i have and its sick

if you are using to big of a step up ring, you could be losing lots of coverage on your lens

Get the raynox clip on fisheye.Its cheap and the best out.

you will also have huge vig.

Get the raynox clip on,it doesnt have any vig and its only $40,its definitly a lense up their with the baby death.

your sizing is all backwards. .3x your original picture is 30% of the new one... .5x is twice as much as your original... 1x is your original... 2x is telephoto... etc.
