WICKED NICE PICTURE!

I'm no eHeath, but that photo is painful to look at. Not because it sucks (which honestly it does), but because it reminds me of when i first started using photo editing programs.

Don't give up. Just remember editing is a tool to correct minor issues in a photo (say your white balance is off 50k from what you want) and not a way to turn a bad photo into a good one.

I love how some of you take his defense just to look like a gentlemen or some shit. I click on an NSG thread labeled as WICKED NICE PICTURE only to see one of the ugliest color grading job ever and OP won't take a single advice, go brag in M&A. This thread is dildos.

Who ever hated this pic, you post something up, lets all tell how shitty of a job you did. Pricks.. OP I actually really like this picture.

A sequencial shot would also be pretty sick of this.

OK

I'm not gonna hate too hard because I went through a serious HDR phase too, but now I just think they look like abortions. I think that graph I posted is actually really accurate.

sparknotes: OP reposts his own pic in NSG like he did in july, people hate it, OP thinks they can't do better, they do way better.

Everyone who posted pictures in response had such sick shots. The guy with a lot of shots from mammoth that's so fucking dope. OP you got shit on a little bit, but you asked for it hahah

Thanks, there's a bunch more on the flickr in my sig

BTW I would hesitate to really shit on OP because like I said, I think most people who get DSLRs get sucked into the HDR hole at one point, I know I did. Picture definitely related

I think some photos can be photoshopped up a ton. Like boosted everything and such because it makes a photo look surreal.

Now thats only with some types of photos that can take that "look" and convey what the creator really wanted.

For example:

A dope starscape with some spooky looking trees might look even sicker with a boosted highlight and and some Hue adjustment.

Whereas, a picture of your mother gardening should be solely based on the original photo.

Anyways, the picture above is pretty dope, but i just dont like its composition.

Maybe a wide angle up close with your subject a bit larger would have been solid.

still, nice work brohan.

i would post a few of my own pics that i took for photgraphy, but i dont know how to post pictures from my desktop... can anyone help me out?

You need to upload the pics to the web first. Image hosting sites like flickr or photobucket work, once you do that you post
photo.jpg
to the forum and it should embed your photo.

Either that or upload them to NS and copy and paste the share code on the photo's page to the forum.

Damn OP got owned. Sure, it's a shitty job and all you guys did better, but to say what i think of his picture, I REALLY LIKED IT. Simply because it looks cool to me.

Only gonna quote the first pic to save scroll bombing, but i REALLY like all of your stuff. Do you have hi-res i can use as background?

You have a great eye for those action shots! Have you gotten any of them published?

I find this ironic when most of the people criticizing the photo are your age or older.

Truthfully OP, the photo isn't bad, but then again I'm seen many more photos in the photo section more thread worthy then this.

Photo section, then you wouldn't get all this "Pointless hate"

I'm not a photographer, but i think OP's picture is alright. Stupid thing to repost his own thread in the wrong section, jeez..

I don't think I've ever seen such a circlejerk on NS before, especially with everyone posting their own photos.

OP, I didn't even look at your photo, but based on your comments I have some advice: no matter how good you get, there's always room for improvement. Criticism is how you grow, and dismissing it gets you nowhere. This is true for beginners and pros.

Instead of dismissing criticism, why not look into it? Ask people what specifically they don't like, how to fix it, and experiment from there. Why did you choose that angle, lens, composition, color palette, etc. If you don't have a well thought-out answer for each of these other than "it looks cool," then maybe you need to polish up on your stuff. Don't get bent out of shape and take it personally. Just because they're being mean doesn't make you "right." If you can't man up and take criticism without curling into the fetal position and covering your ears, then you might as well quit, because good artists are those who favor criticism over compliments.

op, i already have you at 0/10 from last year when you took the shot and made the exact same fucking thread. glad you got roasted again.
