Why does the US goverment still hold the inmates at gitmo, Even though 8% of inmates there are actually known to be hostill to the US and its Allies?

3 inmates hung themselves on saturday, and there have been numerous suicide atempts.

The Goverment still holds them even though the media (not just the US media)

Shows it to the people.

Why isn't any foreign countrys stepping in? Why are the people not angry?

Is it because the goverment is making statements that don't add up?

How do people go about thier lives knowing that their goverment is tortoring people to the extent that they would kill themselves.

The goverment says that the people who hung themselves were terroists and wanted to die. After the statement all documents on the 3 where siezed.

3 british inmates were released awhile back, they said it was the worst thing you could imagine.

They said that they did not think of suicide but some people are stronger then others.

Why?

Why do these things happen?
 
why do you care? do you have family that is there? are you part of humane society or something? I bet if your mom got raped and the 'suspected' person was put in jail you wouldnt be bitchin. so why are you now?

your right we should let them all free so they crash more airplanes into the american cities. They are terrorists looking to kill innocent people. Fuck them, we should be twice as brutal.
 
their human rights are still being violated... its illegal to hold prisoners in those conditions under the geneva convention... nobody can do shit about it because its the military not the government who hold them as prisoners so somehow the normal rules dont apply

Not to kill your little "revelation", but I think you should probably open your eyes a little bit. The US government is not the only government torturing people.

How can people's minds be so sheltered and narrow. You think the US is the only country doing this? Take a look at most European and Asian societies. God forbid I even mention African government.

The US doesn't do physical torture, we use mental anguish. This is technically legal and that's why we are allowed to proceed with it.

No one can possibly know why these people committed suicide. Only they know, and they are now gone. Please don't speculate because people died in a prison it was because the torture was so horrible. I agree that we detained people that may have not done anything, but that happens all the time. I think it is just completely ignorant to point out the US as the one that tortures people so badly.
 
NOTHING looks good for the US. We are the media shitwhole target of the world. If anything is wrong...blame it on the US! I agree that the US does a lot wrong (who doesn't), but I mean come on. We are not among a selected group here. There are many nations whose torture rituals are far beyond anything comprehendable.

When a US citizen has his head chopped off the world turns it's head, but when we put Saddam in his underwear they let the tounge lashings fly. Great concept.
 
there are some things a government just has to do, or will do to stay in power. some governments are alot worse like totalitarian or communist. but then when people try to start utopias they never last either. i think our government, despite their faults, is doing a pretty damn good job. i have begun to realize that a perfect government and/or life is very unrealistic.
 
The US goverment has to live up to the standards that they set for themselves.

We punished the nazis for torture and killing. And by all means, they deserved it, they were bad people.

Why is it when amerika does something wrong then its alright?
