Why you should wear a helmet...

I'm a big helmet guy, i pretty much always wear one while skiing...well today me and my friends were just messing around on a hit we built outside my house so we go out with just our ski stuff barely on and start throwing stuff down...like i said we were just messing around, so no need for a helmet or gloves or a coat even. the ONE time i don't wear a helmet, i go for a little backflip (worst case scenario, i over rotate and hit my head in soft snow). My ski ejects right off the jump because of the steepness (bindings are shit too, fuck Marker) and i continue the rotation land on one ski but tip. i land, and as soon as i did my ski lands on edge from about fifteen feet up right on the top of my head. now i'm sitting here... my high of pain killlers and redbull is fading...my head hurts like fuck...wear a helmet
 
Agreed. Even the littlest shit can be the worst. One time, I was skating in my garage and I was doing a nose pivot, and I dislocated my shoulder.
 
ow sounds painful, but ya, if i was doing a backflip, especially on a shitty backyard jumo, i would wear a helmet
 
yah i definetly should have had a helmet on...i'm just sayin don't ever be like me and think you won't get fucked on next to nothing.

Forgot to add: instead of winding up dead I just ended up snapping my radius and ulna clean, right before the wrist. Shit sucks, but it beats being lifeless.
 
Hope your head feels better. I know what you mean, if I were screwing around on some small jump in my yard with a few friends I'd probably get the same feeling of whatever, im in my yard, doesnt matter, dont need a helmet but it does the small things can suck
 
hmm onetime i farted while not wearing a helmet. shit was scary.

no but i was there when he got hit in the head with his ski. omg it was seriously pry 5,000 ft. in the air and it came straight down on his fucking head. i was scared. it was perfect

your lucky you didn't break your neck doing a backflip. Even If you had a helmet you couldve easialy been paralized
 
maybe some of you can get away with no helmets! but me as a skier that is always pushing my self, i fall at leats 10 or 15 times a day and if i dident where a helmet i probley wouldent be typing this right now!
 
fo sho i spent 3 days in the hospital after i fell of my longboard and didnt have a helmet on. cracked skull/internal bleeding in the skull
 
You landed a backflip on one foot and then got hit on the head by the other ski? That actually sounds pretty sweet.

Oh, and always wear a helmet. You never know what's gonna happen.
 
I need to, I cant afford any more, I got a bunch from biking, would have been in a coma if it werent for the helmet the doctors said, was compleatley missing 12 hours of memory.
