Why you should support Saga

I recently gave my view on Saga gear in a thread. Long story short I said that their gear isnt for me. I used to wear Saga in like 2010 in the eggnog days but now I look for other attributes in my outerwear.

Saga saw my post and decided "hey, hes a former customer and we want him back". They then sent me a PM expressing that they hope I will return to wearing Saga one day and gave me a hook up if I decide to ever order anything from them.

Saga is an awesome company. They have remained true to their roots and support our industry so well. Not once have I have doubted Sagas motives. They are a ski company that supports skiers, no matter how good, and that is rad as hell.

Share other awesome Saga experiences here

I too have found Saga to not really be for me so much anymore due to how wet their products tend to get and how easily. I support them 100% though because they remain very active and involved in the community and haven't sold out, like jibberish.

I really like Saga's fit and styling from a technical aspect their gear is no where near what I would call on par with other brands. Their coats are far too heavy and they get wet very easily.

If only you could get a Saga coat with Arcteryx material/technology. That would be something I'd be willing to pay $400+ for.

oh and no skittle colored jackets… their solid colors always did better

I said some things about about saga in that thread too. (about 13 year old kids fanboying over them). I really wish I could take it all back because saga is involved in the community probably more than any other company, and their stuff is really good for what it is. (price, materials, style, etc.)

I'll keep wearing my saga jacket because of what the company is, not what it is made out to be

Props to saga You have my vote.

I'm a huge Saga customer, I usually buy a couple of hoodies and misc from them every year and really love their stuff. Saga is an awesome company and I'll always support them. #sagafam

Any jacket with goretex or goretex pro is going to be $500 minimum.

Have u tried the monarch stuff? It's pretty damn good for the price. Sure it's not Arcteryx, but it's also not $600 for a jacket.

so you're telling me that I should buy saga because they gave you some sort of discount?

don't you think maybe they're giving you a hook-up to sway to you a little more towards the positive side next time you review their gear?

they're no more interested in supporting skiers than any company in the industry. that's not to say that they're uninterested in it, but its not like they are some gleaming example of lacing up the bros.

Except that arcteryx jackets cost $700-800.

Jiberish hasn't sold out..

they have the best shop employee discount program out of pretty much all companies I've gotten them for. First year of their program gear was like 70% off! it's around 50% off now but I'm not complaining!!

Saga held a big part in why I moved to SLC. Big local supporter, and Utah having the best snow in the world being complimented by a company like Saga (4FRNT too) was a deal breaker. Great merchandise, awesome employees who share the same passion and the extreme contributions they make to this awesome sport, and a stellar team that grows by the month.

I am forever loyal to this brand. Saga all day.

I respect your opinion but I disagree wholeheartedly. Jiberish has not sold out... do you even know what sold out means? They still sponsor athletes and content, they're making outerwear now..

Idunno actually. They might be heavy but I really like that sort of thing. The pants are super heavy but I've fallen on concrete stuff with them on and got by without a tear or anything. I don't mind the weight as I'm not touring or doing anything like that where weight is of primary concern, so durability that comes with the weight is a huge plus

Their stuff looked so bad last year to this year I think... Wish it was cheaper and easier to get in Europe

Hm... no one style of clothing will appease everyone. They've always said they make what they want to wear, so there's that haha. Personally I think their winter drop this year looks awesome.

I've loved saga since I started skiing. Granted its only been 2 years and I did have a thread about a few holes in my pockets. They sent me a $50 coupon code last week here on NS. I support saga 100% still. They for well for me and I don't go swimming in my gear so I've never dealt with the "water issues" other people have. 10/10 saga

Saga, its always been there for me, and usually my go to choice for outerwear mostly because of the price to performance ratio. Last season i got a pair of pants when they were what like %70 off? I also ordered a couple other things and split some shipping with some stuff with my friends, somehow our stuff was lost in the mail, and without hesitation Saga resent our stuff, with a bunch of extra goodies such as a ruffle bag, gloves, ect.

The coats get wet? I have to ask if you wash your coats. If you are getting a 20k 20k Jacket I really have a hard time believing that they get wet. I live in Northern BC, the snow here is heavy wet and DEEP. Im never wet or cold in a Saga Jacket as long as it's the higher end one. If you are washing your coats that can ruin the water proofing right away.

Saga kills it. They are not trying to be something they are not they don't claim to be the best Tech jacket out there and puke tech facts and features at you. They claim to be rad and they are.

For real, I dont even go with their higher end jackets and I never get wet on the inside of a jacket.

If saga had some back country-specific gear that would be sick. Like maybe some bibs or a jacket with a powder skirt

Saga is fucking awesome. I think anyone whose gotten a PM from them in the last week will understand why. So stoked.

Had Saga and loved it... decided to switch to Lethal Descent last season and that turned out to be a mistake... went and bought Saga again. I'm sorry Saga! Thanks for always being there for me.

I live in one of the the windiest and most brutally cold towns in the west and my Saga keeps me warmer than anything else I've ever tried. Also I look good.

They really are a sick company that cares. They supported an event I helped organize in college. One email and they were down to contribute.

Saga are certainly sick but haven't dispatched my order yet which should have arrived by now.

They're shipping the pre orders this week. I'd imagine theres hundreds or thousands(maybe?) of orders so don't worry. You'll get your stuff. They probably have to wait for the rest of their products to get in from the factory which they don't always have full control over.

I love saga. I love that they give back and I love what they stand for. Definitely 10/10.

As much as I love my Arc'teryx when its wet snow (which is rare in NW Colorado) or raining, It just doesn't reflect my personality. I love the function of both of my Saga jackets equally for different reasons. The multitude of pocket options, The fun color-ways, and of course the "Saga signature fit." I think it would be dope if they made shells though. Proper layering makes insulation obsolete and it is more comfortable when you can be just as warm while wearing half the weight in material. That being said I will continue to support Saga not for their progressive style in outerwear and athletes. Keep killin it Saga, can't wait to see what the future holds for you!

totally accurate. I gave them a call regarding a pre-order question. I am sure they have been getting bombed with "Hey when is my gear coming?"

I was calling to check on another order of mine, just making sure I had all the tracking and stuff correct, and the dude I talked to, I think his name was kurt or kirk (my phone was not super clear) was super helpful, totally chill and answered all my questions. Saga is the best!

I 100% support saga and their involvement in the ski community but I might actually wear it if it didn't make me look thug as hell. mens smalls are not small enough

I went out and bought two jackets from Saga for this upcoming season. Bought the Fatigue which is a heavier jacket but it seems so durable and will keep the cold out. Then i bought a Monarch also and that thing seems so waterproof theres no way itll let water seep through. I'm pumped to rep them this winter and I also have a sweatshirt on the way which im stoked for. They're a great local company with the intentions of making skiers and snowboarders happy customers for life.

Actuslly not true. The muted solid colors are definitely a favorite of many but our brighter color blocked jackets, pants, etc actually sell out first (after black of course, everyone wants black).

Have you looked into the monarch line.

I think she's saying that the smallest 27.5 inch length (on the fatigue) is still too big for her haha.

I bought the monarch 3l pant, jacket combo last year. Originally, I bought it because their student discount is AMAZING! so i could get their stuff for super cheap. But after spending a season in their gear, I'd buy the 3L line again for the full price. The material is super water proof, even on the wettest powder days. And after bumping into the occasional tree, I noticed the material also resists rips/tears really well! I like the style and i respect a company that cares about the sport as much as I do.

Keep it up SAGA!

Never wore saga before but I got they're og jacket this year, I'll let y'all know what I think once it finally ships :P

If your jacket feels wet, it will largely be down to condensation building up as you perspire inside the jacket! think of a single glazed window building up condensation - similar kinda of effect.

We typically give student discounts to clubs and organizations that contact us. He might have got it from that.
