Why would you need 5 pairs of skis?

all you need is 3 pairs park powder and carving... but you dont even need that many.. if your good enough you will make do..

Yeah I made do with one pair. Now I have a few I Think it just boosts the enjoyment if you ski a different pair for different terrain. If I choose the wrong pair its no big deal I can still ski the carver in powder/bumps.

Why "make do" with a limited set of skjis if you could afford 5+ pairs? There was a thread about this is the ski equipment forum. Any ski is going to be a compromise in performance in certain conditions. Yes, you could ski something like a Vicious everywhere pretty well, but there are better park skis, better powder skis, better carving skis, better touring skis, etc, etc, etc. So if you could afford it, why not get skis specialised for every type of skiing?
