Why the snowboard vs ski beef is irrelevant

Both disciplines, when done right look good

good snowboarders and good skiers can navigate anywhere on the mountain

comparing them as if they were meant to compete is like comparing apples to bananas.. yeah they are both fruit (Snowsport) but they are both a different discipline

snowboarders are masters of flow, a good snowboarder has good flow their riding style is fluid in motion in the Avatar World Snowboarders would be water and air

skiers are masters of explosiveness, a good skier can go big, go fast, and stay in control the whole time a skiers riding style is aggressive. Skiers would be fire and earth

People who say snowboarding is better or vice versa are noobs, the real masters have mastered both elements.

I've always have had mad respect for snowboarding. All my friends are snowboarders and I'm the only skier in the bunch. It's funny to poke each other with insults and talk shit but at the end of the day if you truly believe snowboarding is less of a sport or for douches you're an idiot. Swapping skis and boards with your buddies at the end of the day every once in a while is a guaranteed good time.

I feel most of the beef at this point is a joke or in good spirit. I don't know anyone who actually hates snowboarders amymore.

i feel like now a days the only people who think theres beef between the two are the ones who ski one week a year and consider themself a "skier" or a "boarder." anyone who actually consistently goes out knows that its far from true now. just my two cents

Besides ocasionally calling my snowboarder friends slowboarders, i havent seen any evidence of a beef since like 2010

Only gapers think one is better than the other

Fact. We're all out there for the same reason it's dumb as fuck to breed hate on the topic

Yeah. Most of my friends are snowboarders so I always give them shit about it in a completely joking way, even though they can rip.

If you truly have beef with either discipline then, you're either old as fuck or a snob.

It's all the old geezers at alta who won't be there in 20 years who hate snowboarders

Is alta skier only or am I thinking of a different Utah resort? Which is crazy to think about that reports like that are still around.

I only know really chill boarders and stuff and I definitely support them. However, I do think rodeo5 for example looks better on skis than on a snowboard. Doesn't mean I think lesser or better about one of the two, like someone else said; you shouldn't have to compare them, let everyone do their thing man

I make sure to take a really long time doing up my boots right next to the lift line when we get to the hill when I ride with my snowboarder mates.

The bants when snowboarders have to wait for a skier to get his gear on is great.

Whatever boarder. Go back to Jake Burtons backyard.

Lol the park staff at my home mountain all hated skiers with some kind of vengeance, but the mountain just got rid of all the staffers and gave the head park staff a desk job. Seems those days are behind us.

Mhh there is still some because i experienced it first hand. I did a season in australia last year and lived together with a park rat boarder. So naturally we talked about the diffrences and he was truly set on that skiers look bad in the park and snowboarding looks wayy better in every way...? I dissagreed and well... It wasnt too fun talking to him anymore. (He got really upset and angry). So ye i guess there are some types still?

Edit: i definitly do agree with the post tho! I switch it up every now and than and its great fun! So ye both types are there for the same stuff. It can only get better if everyone gets along and chills out.

He sounds like a man-child.

I get more respect when I ski then when I board.

Felt that way in Tahoe, Hood, Utah and Colorado.

Worked at Taos this season and the snowboard v. ski beef is way real.

Whats the hardest part of snowboarding? Telling your parents that you're gay.

Whats the difference between a rookie snowboarder and a pro snowboarder? Two weeks.

How does a snowboarder introduce himself on the slopes? Sorry dude.

spent the last 10 seasons skiing bear in socal and there are a lot of snowboarders that hate on skiing, generally those are the ones that totally suck and don't know what they are doing though. i have never had any issues riding park there, just don't snake people and you should be fine.

I've heard a lot that that's a thing at Bear but it kinda makes sense, it's socal and it's a lot of skater kids and gapers

only other place ive seen much ski hate is at boreal, but i dont think that's surprising either considering it's a bunch of park rats riding what seems like a small east coast park mtn that accidentally got dropped on donner pass

Thats crazy you say Hood because when i went there, skiers were the minority, and everyone was treated wth equal respect even the old carvers who would ocassionally share a spliff on the chairs

I will say it bothers me when new snowboarders slide sideways down the trails, effectively scraping any snow off and leaving a beautiful trail of ice in their wake. Hello east coast.

Hermann Maier taught me that the key is to pretend those ice patches are boost pads like in Mario Kart

It’s non existent because snowboarders were around first and we started using their parks after they were shit on by another version of us ... don’t see how anybody with skis can argue snowboarders pioneered it all and paved a comfy cozy road for skiers who can’t go fast, jump far, mogul or enter/exit gates to have a fall back
