Why the hype around 5d mark III?

Can someone please explain to my why the 5d mark III is so popular for filming? After reading through specs and features, I don't understand what sets it apart from other cheaper dslrs. I am no expert, but things don't seem to add up to me.

Any ideas?

I think it's because it is a full frame camera and has a better sensor than many of the cheaper dslrs. It's good in low light situations and has the professional build quality. The 5d mk iii also offers a head phone jack, which none of the other cheaper canon dslrs do. There's plenty of other features too that I'm missing, but these are just the ones of the top of my head.

It does a good job at photo and video. It is full frame, has a very good AF system, and is half the price of a 1D X. For video, it features a number of high bitrate options, as well as being able to shoot raw with magic lantern (at 1080p). It is good at photo and video individually, but doing both well for the price makes it a great deal. Also, many people who started out with t2i's invested in canon glass over the years. They likely have a number of lenses they like, all of which (excluding ef-s) will work on the 5d3. There may be a few things I'm missing, but that is the main idea of it.

Thanks for the clarification!
