i know!!! i havent really noticed them doin it in the powder cuz the ones i see always get stuck but i like goin fast on groomers and they take all the good softer stuff off till its ice! i hate that!

Ya man I ski at red mountain we got some killer coolers there like shutes that u got to straight bomb or make a few quick turns, all the good powder is below them and the snowboarders side slip down them and make them big ice shutes.

 
ok here's the explanation;

when a snowboarder is learning to turn, it's mentally hard for them to do it. skiers on the other hand, have it easy cuz it's all about shifting weight from one leg to another. for a snowboarder to turn, it's all about rotating their body to the point when the board turns by itself. the hardest thing when first getting out on a snowboard is over coming the fear of catching your edges and bashing your head on the ground.

snowboarding has been around (in the park) a lot longer than skiing. Pro snowboarders are better than pro skiers in most cases, especially pipe. Get used to it for now.

If the snowboarders are sitting down you should go around them. If they wanted to hit the jump they'd be standing ready to go off. Boarders at my hill sit above the jumps and have snowball fights.

the only place snowboarders are on top right now is on rails, and in the pipe, but id like to see ANY snowboarder goto alaska and hang with seth morrison or one of those guys, as far as big mountain gos, skiers are king. and we all know big mountain takes a shitload more balls and skill than park.

one thing that you all don't relize is when one of are pros does a unnaty 7 to us its a amazing accoplisment, the boarders at are hill are throwing hige style frontside 7's witch is the same as a huge unnaty 7 on skis but they arn't even sponcered so i would like to see what the best in the sport have up there sleaves

hey all you snowboard haters, screw you. at the mt. i work at, all the snowboarders give out mad respect to the skiers that have the balls to throw down with em. every time one of the boarder instructors makes a comment jokinly about skiers, the guy in charge of all the snowboarders will chew him out. sometimes i think alot of the hate btwn skiers and snowboarders is caused by us. even the joking comments are overheard and percieved as hate, even though its a joke, and leads to hate

North Park, a snowboard film from '97, features a snowboarder sliding a football goalpost... bs boardslide. If they were doing that in '97, then yeah, they are definitely better, we've still got a loooong way to go. skiing looks better..... everyone of my snowboarder friends agree and everyone of my skiier friends agree... my snowboarder frends cant sit thrugh a whole snowboard flick yet they can ask to borrow strike 3 from me once they watch it at my house.... i know so many snowboarders that want to switch to skiing but there afraid they have to start a square 1 again.... so they dont switch over they just ride my skis once or twice a week

Snowboarders are who we basically copy... they were taking their park tricks to the backcountry way before skiers were doing it... I still think that skiing looks better, and has better tricks... style and grabs are similar. But skiers can go biger faster and steeper. Also fakie ski tricks are harder and cooler than fakie snowboard tricks.

Guess what? So do skiers, especially idiot monkeys on fat skis that cannot buy a turn despite their 130mm+ skis. On steep terrain (were else would you be in powder?) I see just as many XXXXL baggy pant wearing fat twin tip skiers side slipping as I do boarders -

And it ruins the snow just the same -

Fat skis make marginal skiers able tp access terrain they cannot handle -

The worst part is when i see these idiots - "side surfing" - thinking their side slipping is cool -

I have see donks sideslip down 1000-vert 45-degree chutes on fat skis

So don't hate the gear - hate the rider/skier doing it
 
this is so true. It took me a long time to learn how to snowboard really well because it's all about getting the right motions and balence down, and that takes alot of time. I started skiing last season and after 2 days I was almost as good at skiing as I was at snowboarding.

But of course that doesn't take away from the fact that there's a huge ammount of gappers who snowboard with probly no desire to get better, they just want to look cool.

pretty sure the only ones that do that are the ones that suck.

and as far as sitting down goes, its really tiring on your legs to stand up not moving on a snowboard for over 20 seconds. just go around everyone. they dont care. the reason theyre sitting is because either they suck and wont hit somethihng(so go sround them) or theyre tired and will hit in when the get energy back(which will take a little bit so go around them).
 
Some boarders are great guys. Some, however, at my mountain at least, just sit in the park all day right in the center of a run-in to a jump and just stay there for like 10 mins daydreaming. If they would just get out of the way and move off to the side, everything would be so much better.

You gotta give respect to get it, and if you do that, they will respect you if you can throw down your shit just as much as they respect their own buddies.

At my mountain, if a skier can throw down a 7 vs a snowboarder that can throw down a 7, the skier will get more respect. Considering at my mountain like 90 - 95% of heads in the park are boarders, and talented skiers are just harder to come by in my area.
 
o god i hate that. the worst is when they do it on groomed trails tho. i hate the sound soooooooo much, and when your skiing and you don thav beats, this and snowblowers is all you hear
 
i love snowboarders sitting on the ground waiting to drop cause i just keep hiking up and hitting it non stop. If someone is standing up and ready to go , im not gona snake them but otherwise im gona get as many hits in a row as you let me
