Why the fuck does everyone love seattle?

Winner.

Seattle is the only city I could ever live in again. I've lived in Portland AND Seattle. The only complaint I have about Seattle is the size. But even then, it's the best place everrrrr.

Yea sorry I wasn't one to coment on the summer, Im not in Seattle for the summer except for a few weeks, but when I am there it is amazing. Anyone ever been to Preist Lake ID?

Best oysters in the country

So now we have strayed to a Washington vs Oregon debate? Well I guess it isn't a debate since Washington shits on Oregon.

waterloo!

this, the rain is a stereotype for the most part. we do get more rain than alot of other places, but even when it rains its almost never a huge downpur, usually just a mist that lasts for a long time.

I'm going to have to say your wrong. We had some pretty heavy downpours the last 2 weeks, but in saying that we hav had a few amazing days like yesterday it was 65.

The biggest thing about seattle that makes it so great is the people/culture/environment surrounding it. Its not the east coast, which is filled with alot of rude people who live their lives uber competitively. Its not the south where there is still a ton of religious freaks. Its not the southwest where its a million degrees the whole year. Its not the midwest where its negative a million degrees for half of the year. Its not like southern cali (L.A specifically) where all of the people suck. But there is a balance among the people who live here.

Yes it does rain quite a bit, but that rain is the reason its so wonderfully green here (2nd reason its great). When its not raining it is absolutely beautiful, and you appreciate it more because you dont experience it everyday.

This is going to sound pretentious BUT i'll say it anyway. There is alot of money in the area with Microsoft, Amazon, Starbucks, Boeing, ect... Because of this the overall quality of living here is pretty good.

IIt has great proximity to all of the mountains in western washington you wont spend more than 3 hours (without traffic) driving to a mountain, and those are the ones that are far. Snoqualmie Pass and Stevens Pass are between 45 min- 1.5 hours away a 3 hour drive to canada (5 to whistler) and a 6 hour drive to hood.

Wow lets just say its a outdoor paradise

1- Alpental-Crystal-Stevens-and the best for last Baker) all great mountains to ski, and thats just to name a few.

2-Some of the best green bud you can find in the country.

3- There is not a more beautiful city than Seattle on blue bird day with cascades on one side and the olympics on the other.

4-Eastern washington- 100 plus during the summer great for camping boating and Az type landscaping.

5-Location- Portland 3 hour drive)- Vancouver Canada 3 hour drive)

6-Ocean shores Wa, Long Beach Wa. Words longest beach you can drive on.

7- Hot springs, im a big outdoor person and love to hike and Washington has some great hot spings to hike to.

8-Not to far away from skiing in the summer- Whistler 4 hour driver for Glacier skiing in the summer

Mt Hood, in Oregon 4 hour drive for Glacier skiing in the summer.

I guess the best thing I can say is come here see for yourself.

See, most people from seattle I've met don't give a flying fuck about the "rivalry", it's people from Portland that always bring it up. Portland is beautiful, but I prefer Seattle. Hood is gorgeous, but I prefer Rainier.

Mafuckin haters...

It seems like a beautiful city, but I just could not deal with the rain and clouds.

Its completely sunny here in Denver probably 6 days a week, and clouds make me sad.

Jimmi Hendrix straight outa garfield.

Personally i got out of Seattle because of the traffic, i moved north and it's a WAY better life. Actually scratch that it sucks up here.

Not to mention it actually snows in town and stays for a while in Eastern Washington. I want to live in Wenatchee once I'm done in college.

Garfield which is the school he went to his notorious for turning out musically talented people such as jimi, quincy jones, mackelmore, shankbone, part of pearl jam, the list goes on.

Not to mention the jazz band is fucking amazing, they toured Europe.

wooh garfield! such a great high school experience.

and besides musically talented people, just talented people in general. tons of smart kids and tons of great athletes too

did you go there?

lived in both places. grew up in portland currently living in seattle. digging portland more because in a very small area theres so much shit to do and better weather. upside to seattle is its larger.

because its just sick, you have every type of climate. and if you are a resident of wahington you can go to WSU vancouver and its like a half hour away from mt. hood meadows. washington is jsut a baller state and im from there. Silverdale represent

Really? Well you did just start a debate about this. BC bud is some of the best bud in America and guess what thats what i get up here. I am not really sure how to back this up besides personal preference but our weed is liek some much better than yours!

BC bud doesn't come from America...lol. And after smoking numerous different strains from Colorado, WA, OR, and BC (not even including east coast bud and bud outside north america, unless you get that shit from the best growers it's just not the same quality) and smoking in a couple different countries in Europe, most medical shit from CO or Cali and most black market indoor grown from OR/WA will blow indoor BC hydro out the water (no pun intended) any day.

Most BC bud that crosses the border ain't even close to the best you can get there...and you'd be wise not to care about which regions has the "best bud" because you can find the "best bud" fuckin anywhere you just need to be willing to cough up the cash.

im not going to get into how much i hate portland and why, because some portland residents will get all up on me and be like "what the fuck bro!?"

but i fucking hate portland.

also Seattle has those fucking chocolate cherries or whatever and a DOPE aquarium. like, both of those things are sick. so fuck yeah for seattle.
