Very true. It is conceited indeed. I was replying to this quote by bitchass 'I think you need to see some life outside of the church because appartently you have an extremely distorted view on the world that the rest of live in.' He was steryotyping me as a church kid so I returned the favor.

I have been working as a paramedic for 2 years now in a city of a million people. Trust me, I know all about the problems of society, I also ama crisis counsellor, I have to talk to the kids that are the product of broken homes and abuse and try to help them. I have found it a help to havea moral code, a standard of absolutes, as opposed to saying 'do whatever you want'

I am not putting Christians as the 'subjects of constant ridicule', I made one comment about a kid praying in class and being ridiculed for it..this has happened multiple times to kids I know personally.

In a world that preaches tolerance toward all, its a little hard to explain to a 6 year old why he was made fun of BY A TEACHER for saying grace for his food.

I disagree to some extent. I am classified as a radical by many. I am a christian 24/7, my life reflects my faith. The accepted christians, tend to be persons who only are christian on sundays or major holiday such as christmass and Easter. So many people call themselves christians just because they show up to church on sundays. THat has very little to do with being a christian. Most have completly missed the boat.

Bwald..Iw as referring my earlier comment, the one you referrred to as putting 'christians a subject of constant ridicule' This kid was one I counselled, he was mocked by a teacher for his desire to say Grace. In a world that preaches tolerance, I find this hard to reconcile.

To be a christian:

1. Believe that jesus is your savior

2. Live your life to reflect jesus's teachings

3. Live by example, so others will see your grace shown through you by god

4. Teach others jesus's teachings.

5. Reach out to people are not saved and want to listen.

I practice this on a daily basis. Church is a place for me to meet others and learn more about my faith, however most of my christian faith is founded in my daily life.

and i'm sorry i did assume you were a church goer, apparently you practice from your home. my bad, im not religous by any means.

i could write another opinionated statement, but what's the point. you're trying to sway people to your views, not sway yourself away from your views. so i'm out.

I am glad that you are in the position to tell everyone who is a bad teacher. My convictions are my convictions. I dont force this on people. I only talk to people who want to listen. If this offends them, I thank them for the opportunity to talk to them and leave them alone. I do not go door to door, or confront people on the street. I put myself in situations where people can talk to me and want to listen to me speak

 
I work at my church with teenagers and younger men who are struggling. I am active on my college campus in a lot of clubs and people know i'm a christian and that i like to listen. Sometimes i just listen to people and help them out if they have had a rough time. I am not a bible beater. Jesus just wanted to help people.

 
the wave..yeah, very true. But I am not some religious nut, I dont run around a work preachin to people, but sometimes I feel the need to stand up for what I belive in.
