Allright I am sure that you are all going to tell me that no one uses them so I'll get rid of that first. Tanner and dumont both ride a soft boot and I think we can all say they rip. Most companies are making a soft boot now that is stiff enough to jib on as long as you are not an old bump skier who needs an insanely stiff boot. Lets think about it a soft ski boot, hmmm more comfortable, lighter, warmer, and you don't need a stiff boot! A soft boot takes more of a skier to ski it because there is less support. Mikeal will be riding the lange sft fr soft boot this summer check it out... gonna be the shiznit

and stop all the soft boot hating.. untill you've tried one ... you wont understand

 
yeah it's just like jumping out of a window with some stiff plastic boots instead of some soft boots...just try them, i've tried some in a shop but bought some rossi xx instead of em cause they were just too soft last year but maybe they're stiffer this year...

 
a few years ago Sorel made a boot called EXO that had a soft boot in a stiff outer frame. the best part was you could remove the frame and have a soft boot to hike/walk in. It was unlike anything I've ever seen. But the company went under and the boot disappeared.

i tried a couple models, i like my boots tight, i found that the soft part was collapsing when i was clipping them tight and it was hurting my feet big time

I understand what you are trying to say, that soft boots work too, which is fine. But personally i think that most people buy the boots they can afford, not what they need the most.

 
why not get them if tanner uses them? If tanner uses them theyre probably pretty good. Since Rossignol isn't advertising the soft boot as a park boot I don't think hes riding them because hes paid a ton too.

and tanner rides them, so i got a pair, turns out first day i used them i was doing cab 9's and 270-270 on rails, im trying the backflips of houses like mcmurray today, ill let yall know how that goes too

well rossi isnt the only soft boot out there, but tanner was on slonam at Xgames, so i guesse he doesnt use rossi boots, that relates to the guy above me, and not the topic

Soft boots don't offer enough support for real skiing. they were origninally designed for intermediate women skiers. I think tanner uses them for park becuase then he doesn't get bad shin bang. He obviously has to invest in his body becuase that is what makes his $$

 
not to get the boots because you think you'll be as good as Tanner with them, or be cool like Tanner with them (even though he doesn't use them any more), but the fact that Tanner used them for a whole season proves that they must be pretty good for the park, because I think he would have switched to a harder boot if they weren't good for the park. I'm thinking about getting a pair.

I have Rossi 3s. they serve me good. I can ski planty of shit. just tested em in thick powder this weekend-they were just great

my point about tanner wasn't that buying a soft boot would make you ski like him. I was trying to legitimize soft boots in everyones eyes by showing that good skiers (hall, Dumont, Deschenaux) use them.

And they are super DUPER comfortable

I tried the salomon soft boots and they sucked dick. i could not feel my toes properly for about half an hour after i took then off.

you can save a shit load of money buy buying like a size to big then just putting a second insole in. Thats what I did and its great I've had by boot for 2 years and I'm thinkin they might work another year aswell

 
ok, they are really expensive, but ooooh sooo worth it. Nordica beasts or 10.2's. think about it. the skis matter, yes, but the boot is what makes you comfortable and is what makes you ski better. if your feet hurt your not going to ski at the top level you can. it's well worth dropping money into a more expensive boot, ride those for 3-4 years and still be comfortable in them for the entire time. i have the nordica beasts from 2001, and they are still super comfy.
