Why so much hate on my vid?

So this is my vid edit that i made, and spent a fair amount of time on editing it. I know the skiing is not great, and that the filming and editing isn't pro or anything...but it still has good feelings and i am just wondering is it actually a 6 vid? cuz when i posted it i got a lot of hate. so i was hopeing that the hate had worn off by now, or that some people could tell me what exactly is soo crappy about the vid. i am not trying to promote this as a "wow" we are amazing skiers and gonna go pro or anything, its just a fun thing i made with some of our footage when i was sick with mono and pneumonia aka "SARS" for 2 months.

dude dont listen to the ratings listen to the comments. the comments are positive and thats a sick video. ther are lots of dicks on this site who just go through every video and rate them all a 1 for kicks. enough of my videos have suffered this too but who gives a crap. hte comments are what matters

There are good responses that are by my finreds but in the miidle there are shitty ones where people are like min golf rip, and shit liek that.

video was good. happy yet? i dont give a shit if someone said mini golf for the dryslope shit. YOU CAN SKI THE WHOLE FUKIN YEAR!!!!
 
Plus, no one started to give you shit until you started replying in huge ammounts on your video post.... You misconstrued so much of the first few posts, lots of them were positive and you thought they were negative.. Once you started showing people that your mind works a little slower than everyone elses and how you cant take criticism or feedback unless it is good, people started to build on that and they tore you apart. And DO NOT say that it didn't have any negative effects on you because it clearly irked you enough, because you made a thread on this. You sir are your own downfall. It may have been an alirght edit, I couldnt tell, it didnt work for me.

On this website, criticsm happens, and feedpack whether it be positive or negative will find it's way back to you no matter how well made your edit is. It's not a question of why it happens, its when its going to happen.

yea the songs didnt really flow or whatever.. they seemed a little random. but the skiing was awesome. and the big mountain shots were epic

but thats just me.
 
it was way too ...... serious, after the whole epic tale thing about skiing i was pretty much expecting pros. but other than that it was pretty sick
 
Sick video. Who cares if the songs flow or whatever. Make it how you want so you're happy. Its not like the skiing in the video is pussy. So who cares? If people have passion for skiing they wont look at the music you chose, or the way you edited it they will look at the skis on your feet.

I liked it alot.

Few things wrong with your post:

if you were expecting a higher rating, then why did you make so many excuses for your video? Dont make excuses for you work; it is what it is. I dont care that you had mono and "SARS" while editing it. I mean, that sucks for you, but it doesn't change my opinion of your video. Which is the following:

Overall it was good. Amature, but good. It had decent pacing, and it wasn't painful to watch. In my opinion there were WAY too many effects. Keep it simple, this is a skiing teaser not a japanese anime cartoon. Music in the beginning was way too repetative. Loops are fine, but it was too short, and went on for too long. Also, the transition into the song was terrible. And not to nitpick, but this bugged me: opening sequence is engaging, but I got no sense of an "epic tale." If there is a story being told, i have no idea what it could be. I just saw some cool skiing. And if it is of "most importantly: skiing" then dont have your first shot be of a boarder. it just threw me off.

Again; this is my opinion. I have years of experience with video editing, and the production process in general. If you like your video; great. You have that right, but you've gotta accept that some people aren't going to and that's ok.
 
Relying on ratings on ns to tell you if your video is well made is like relying on your number on hotornot.com to tell you if you're a kind, intellectual person.
 
you're clearly not. you just want people to boost your ego and say 'OMG THAT WAS SOOOOO INCREDIBLE!!'

That was really good but theres a couple things you should change. After it says most importantly and of skiing you have a shot of a snowboarder change the first shot to that cliff jump. Also start the teaser on the second song because most people won't watch the whole thing cuz the first song drags so much. But the editing was real good
 
it wasnt great but it wasnt terrible. i found it to be pretty boring. but seriously, stop trying to get attention for it.

and yeah ok, some people didnt like your video...i dont think that gives you grounds to make a fucking thread about it. just deal with it.
