Why so may deaths/seriuos injuries?

i dont know the exact count or reason, but yes it has been a particular rough season for deaths and near deaths, but thats just the way it is
 
cr, spong, marc andre, hoot brown, teddy knape....i think that is the count

this is a fucked up season for sure
 
there have been so many in the past. i think the difference now is that people are pushing it more and more, and on top of that, there is more exposure to this kind of stuff, i.e. this website and others. Its been around forever, we just didnt know
 
exactly, we are pushing the limits of what the human body can do and eventually bad shit will happen. Dont forget about Doug Coombs either
 
There is no real data showing that more poeple are dying or being serevrly injured...you are all basing your judgements on subjective empirical information.

Possible causes - More media exposure than ever before. Websites like this were such accidents get the exposure and response they so dearly deserve. More information easier to get = more news about such accidents

Have more people been injured than last year??? probably not. Do we hear more about it? Yes
 
this season is a great reason for everyone to slow down and slow the progression in the name of living. Skiing is reaching a plateau and maybe a season like this is what it takes for you people to realize it. Be safe out there!
