Why slide rails?

Why is it cool to slide a rail? It took me literally five minutes in the gravel in my back yard to learn. Enlighten me.

 
learning them arent necessary a big thing, but do this for me, 270 on, blind switch up over a kink, than 450 off, and tell me thats not a big deal

Rails are way harder than jumps. anyone can make it over a jump, and a lot of people cant even slide rails. now, when you start throwing tricks, and going bigger, jumps get more challanging than rails. but yeah, they are so fun.

I prefer rails to jump

it's just fun to do

and spining out or on or switching up is some good challenge...

and try some kinked rail or c or s-rail that's a little bit different than a flat rail way much fun

It is another aspect of skiing. And as many have sait, it is a lot of fun and there are a lot of things to try and learn on rails. The possibilities are almost endless.

seriously, being able to slide a rail and sliding rails sweet rails with style, and getting technical on them is mcuh harder. just like being able to land and take off switch off of big jumps and in the pipe is much harder than riding switch down a green circle at 5mph

Yeah, hell, I learned to ski in 5 minutes; anyone can learn something quickly, but it takes a ton of time and practice to get technical and to master. Your argument can be used in almost every aspect of life.

Rails are so much different in the city than in the park. park rails aren't that great, but if you go and set up a hand rail. its sketchy, its gnarly, and there's consequence. Its just something else really cool, and fun.

its a chalange. its somthing that there will always be another harder rail to try and master, and once you get a rail that youve tried 40 times befor unsucessfully, its such a good feeling. thats why i do rails, the chalange.

I do rails... to do rails they are fun and challenging and there are so many tricks and different types of rials that you are enver done learning

Aside from that we got kids on here saying 'because you didnt do the 80 foot whatever that a professional skier does in a ski movie.' No shit he fuckin didnt. He said he just learned how and didn't see what was FUN about it. Not that he was some allstar at it and fuckin owns, and then some of you go off on him saying that its because he didnt do a good rail. did YOU slide the 80 foot C that Mike Nick slides? Didn't think so.

Again, best answer: cause its fun. Not because you can do a 450 off.

^i see ur point about weak responses, but the kid also said, 'i learned in like 5 min.' he makes it sound like he knows all there is to know about rails, when in reality he has no idea. he also seems to look down on rails and think they are really easy, so talking about 450s and 80ft Cs is in fact relevant
