one of my non skier friends asked me why i ski, and a mass amount of ideas filled my head. I sure dont do it for the women and i dont do it to be popular,i do it because it is fun as hell and is something that erases all my worries and blankets me with freedom. When i am on the mountain everything that has gone wrong in my life seems to disapear.My focus changes from worrying about social chaos, to igonorant bliss. The parental oppression that controls my life seems to disapear as i shred powder, fly off large pieces of man made perfection, and share a few bowls at the marely shack.

When i leave the ski area and fill my car this great feeling of no worries will remain with me until the moment my 2 hour depature brings me home. Once i set foot out of the car and look at my home and the busy people around me, i stop thinking about landing cork 5's and start thinking about getting good grades and how at last weeks party i fucked a fat girl with hairy arm pits. No longer is there snow on the ground or a hill to conquer. now there are dishes to be done and a week long wait for my next chance to get to the mountains and leave the world of worries behind.

so to answer my friend i said, ' it sure beats doing bitch work in the back yard' he said okay and the night to come was wild and crazy.

im gonna say i have to agree, you probably havn't skiied in a while and your probably really high, its ok man you'll get through it.

i ski to ski for the rush u get when u drop a cliff or go into a big table and throw down a crazy shot the cold of a face shot on a pow day the joyu of th freedom of the mountain

why ski? why fuck?? oh yeah...cause its exilerating as all hell and gives you a great rush...and if youre good you can go all day long with out stopping and then be a little sore the next day...but thats ok cause it was sweet

wait andy - for you i thought it was 'no ski=no money=no home' ?

an even better way to ask it would be from a person who doesn't do any snow-sports at all and they ask 'why ski? you spend a bunch of money on it, go up a hill, go back down it, then go back up again'. ski because it's fun, because it's something that's taken you years to learn and perfect, because it sets you apart, because it gets you stoked. ski for the love of it, to push yourself, to achieve something that you could never obtain doing something else. ski because it motivates you to get out there and take risks and to chill with friends. ski because it's life, and you'd never have it any other way.

i think that about answers it.

i love being at a website where everyone loves skiing, like most people in my town ski a cuz winter is half the year but only a few of my friends accutally trick ski, i love skiing, sking rules.

but skiing is my problem in life, because of it i ski all the time and I'm a failure in life but I will always kno i have a far sicker life than most people and altho i dont make much money i do have a great life skiing and thats all that fucking matter in the end
