Why shouldn't girls have to try and throw down as hard as the boys?

Girls in freeskiing are not pushing the limit the way the girls in snowboarding are pushing their sport, with snowboarding you have to be talented, not just look pretty like all the women in freeskiing.

Girls pick it up- espec. "Ash" get over yourself and dont just ski to be cool!!
 
Who said they shouldn't? The girls that have the guts to throw down do, those that don't, don't. It's the same with guys.
 
uhm...where did you get that from?? girls in freeriding throw down. I don't think ingrid, grete or sarah or any of the other pro girls are just skiing to look cool, that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. they're sick skiers, better than you'll ever be
 
not the most intelligent post, but I kinda agree with the original question. If women are supposed to be equal to men, why do we have womens leagues in sports? shouldn't everyone compete together?

I know i know, men are more dominant physically. just thought I'd toss a hole into feminism theory.

There is no reasons girls should suck so much compared to men. All park skiing is is basically aerobatics and gymnastics...both of which girls can do well. They just dont do well with skiing because they are pussies who dont step up and do the same shit guys do. im calling out all women of freesking, especiall "ash" god damn i cant believe she has sponsors...i guess her boobs are nice though i could see why men would want to sponsor her
 
Yeah I've been saying this for years, I don't really get it. I suppose it has more to do with a smaller talent pool to choose from and the fact that girls are scared of bugs and other such nonsense
 
ok, I will. there are guys who do gymnastics, and they are usually better than girls. guys are much more physically strong than girls are and I believe that's where the difference is. I have several friends who have been doing gymnastics for years and they all say that guys are better. there are girls who throw down in the park, and just because they don't look like tanner doesn't mean they suck and don't step up. I know I throw down as hard as I can in the park. props to all the other girls who rips!
 
Yeah because it takes sooo much muscle to throw cork7's. I mean look at Tanner, Dumont, (insert other 3 foot tall scrawny pot smoker) hes fucking RIPPPPED.
 
physically dosent mean ONLY muscles do it?

I think the ski chicks step it up as much as boarder chicks..exept kristi leskinnen who have sold her sole and only does mute 360 ofcours
 
would say 2 years ago it was a pretty sad sight comparing the girls pipe to the guys.... but i think girls are really steppin it up these days......
 
I think it's awesome chicks are skiing in larger numbers. It shows the sport is growing. But i think there is too big a gap between the pro girls and the pro guys. I dont know how to fix that, but right now you can't lump girls and guys together in the same events. It wouldn't work. Girls would complain about never winning, even though they expect to be treated equal. Combined events wont happen until the gap between girls and guys shrinks drastically.
 
girls dont have the same physical strength that guys have, this would be required when you go 20ft out in a pipe or overshoot a huge jump
 
yea i read something in a ski mag that said sarah burke was saying she tried to hit bc booters with the boys but her body couldnt handle it
 
I'm sure if we got some butch lesbians to ski, they'd throw down like no other. But for me i'm quite allright with the pro girls that we got.
 
we dont have testosterone, therefore, the will to huck yourself off a massive jump.

i think ash is pretty sick tough...she does some nasty disasters...and kim lamarre is really good at sketch urban rails.
 
men are better than women at every sport in the world. can anyone name any sport that is dominated by a female? i highly doubt it
 
I disagree with this thread completely. First off, Ash has sponsors because she's good at skiing. She doesn't need to "get over herself" she's sick and is progressing the women's side of things. Remember a year ago when she did that switch 270? Personally, I ski because i love it. I know I can only speak for myself, but this sport is about fun for me and I'm having a fucking good time. Stop hating, get off your computer and go out and ski.

Don't even bother comparing girl snowboarders to girl skiers. There are billions and billions of girl snowboarders, and only like 73 girl skiers (i'm exagerating, dipshit). Theres a reason snowboard girls are ahead.
 
Fuck you, Ash has better style on rails and more balls than most SKIERS regardless of their sex. When she's jumping her shit is so fucking rad...this summer at the ramps she did the sickest cork 9 I've seen anyone throw. And about the "get over herself" comment...she's the most down to earth friend I have, she just does her thing. Basically you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.
 
what are ramps? water ramps? even little kittens can throw down on water ramps. you should see the lifejacket get down.
 
vivian gex is a boy... give the girls some time to step up for sure they will never be as good as the best guys but if the girls would smoke as many pot as them freeskiing would die out...smile and yes there are sports where girls are better > freeclimbing for sure (ask any good freeclimber) and in golfing michelle wie is just sick

Female ice climber Ines Papert DESTROYED all the men in an ice climbing competition last winter. She beat male LEGENDS like Hari Berger and Will Gadd by over THREE MINUTES.

Women are catching up...guys have been pushed in athletics for thousands of years...and women are just getting started.
 
ok first off before you kids get the wrong impression there are a lot of girls who can throw down.

Kristi though is a different story, I cant remember the name of the ski movie I was watching but I could have counted at least 10 times that she did a 360 crossed mute, it was so incredibly boring. Sarah Burke though is incredibly amazing for a girl in the pipe and on hits she really has the looks and the skill.
