Why people buys expansive poles like Armadas

I saw the armada poles in person and they look really well made. best poles technically wise Ive ever seen. The handle, although it's simple feels good but the baskets and the tip are good.
 
i payed 70 bucks for my joysticks, and i have fallen on them countless times on rails walls and jumps, there is barley any scratches and they arent even the slightest bit bent. Befor them i had a pair of 20$ poles, the first time i fell on them they bent 20 degrees, you tell me what is better?
 
Haha, why is everybody making such a big deal about this. If you buy armada's so u can use them for many many many years, there is nothing wrong with.

But if u can give me poles who go just as long as armada's TELL ME hehe!!!:P
 
actually some guy who was 230 pounds at a ski store sat on these armada or scott poles, and they didnt bend much or break. if i did that to my 10 dollar poles, id break them and im 150 pounds. so is it better to buy one 75-100$ pole and last a full year, or numerous poles under 30$?
 
i just hit and run on the rental shop. they asked what i was doing and I just grabbed couple pairs and sprinted out fast as I could. good enough for me
 
i had some shitty cheap scotts 2 years ago, and i broke one halfway through the season. i then ran through a few pair of rentals, and got some aluminium rossis. i managed to snap one of those to. now i got some $120 swix mach 1000 composite poles (which i got for free), and they never seem to let me down. they also have the most comfy grips ever. i love them!!
 
lighter, more durable, all that is crap.

The difference in weight between a $100 pole and a rental pole is so small that it makes no difference in the world. O man its heavier so i cant spin as fast. Durability is all the same. If you bend your poles its probably because you fall on it. The amount of force caused by you is way greater than the $100 poles and rental poles combined. If you're going to break your poles, the difference in durablility is not going to help you. The only thing that makes a difference in my opinion is the grip. Thats mainly for comfort so i just change the grips on my rental poles to the $100 pole grips from broken $100 poles. And all fuckers that care about looks can go fuck yourself
 
i used to go through like 3 pairs per season- then in 98 i got a pair of goode carbon composite poles (about $100 bucks) i've never broken them since- replaced the baskets twice for 5 bucks a pop but handsdown best poles i've ever had.

I had 2 pairs of Komperdell poles from when I raced (one curved and one straight) when moved to BC in '98. The curved ones lasted till 2004 and the straight ones are going strong... They cost like maybe 50bucks a pop..
 
It is quite expensive for Armada poles or Joysticks...but isn't the main purpose to support the industry.
 
i get carbon composite swix poles on proform for like , $29, and theyre sick, dont bend, way more durable. but an expensive aluminum pole seems a bit unintellegent, unless you race, then weight, bend, baskets, grip, all that shit is necessary. although race poles definitely have the best grip on em...i hate pistol grips.
 
people will buy whatever armada/line/4frnt makes. all they have to do is call it steezy or something and thousands of people will rush out and buy them
 
i think everyone should just ask their resort's lost and found desk or what not, if they have some black poles that they lost, and never buy poles again
 
i bought a pair of scott carbon poles for $70 three years ago, third day i bent it on the lift at a 80ish degree bend and it just sprung back into place like nothing happened
 
majority of people that buy those are 13 year old kids who spin only 180s and suck but their parents buy em anything
 
i got lastyears teneighty poles on ebay about mid season last year. paid 20 bucks pluss S&H. they flex so they cant bend or break and i fall on them a lot. they were a little long but i cut them down and now i love them.
 
im the same way with buyin like 5 dollar poles. I baught some poles cheap and mine are neon pink and i spaltered black paint on them
 
yeh man same with me...mine are most likleyhalf the lenghts of all of your guys poles(im serious)and they are not the same size pokles..i got them for 2$ bribing a rentals worker...booya...they are primarily pink grips and baskets with 1 lime green gip...its siick
 
who the fuck cares? why do people buy expensive cars they dont need, why do people buy 100 dollar pants and shoes and shit? why do people paint their houses? its not effecting you so why do you care?
 
I've got a pair of 20$ gipron poles that I got 3 years ago and surprisingly they're still in 1 piece.
 
why question is, what are you guys doing to be breaking like a half-dosen pairs of poles a season? i know it may seem stupid but i have had the same $30 pair of bandit poles for 4 years now and they hae only a few dents and one kink.
 
FIRST TECHNIQUElook in the window of the customer service in the corner and spot a pair of poles. say u lost it, describe them at the lady, then turn around looking surprised saying OH! ITS THEM!

SECOND go in the mountains scrapyard or in someone garbage,

THIRD get ur sisters old one cuz shes a racer and change gear every day

FOURTH go at the rental and take some

FIFTH go see a rich tourist and do sick moves/free entertainement for his gettho poles

SIXTH get a single pole the same lenght as the broken one

OOOOOORRRRRRRRRRRRRR

SKI WITH NO POLES!!!!!!!
 
my sis had carbon, her 70 pound friend falls on them...ooops here they go. graphite is the shit IF you like flexible poles, but getting free white crap and paint them purple is what I like the most
