It is going to be "safe" every time until the one time when it's not "safe."
Then, you're fucked.
Do you have any idea what the underlying terrain or mtn infrastructure might be?
One of the most interesting examples of "safe" poaching I ever saw was an ignorant friend who decided to grab some early season fresh on a closed trail.
Ski patrol was kind enough to take him down the trail and show him the 480V power lines that he skied over before they confiscated his season pass 2 weeks into the season.
You have absolutely no idea why a trail might be closed. You might think you do, but you don't. Every time you poach, you put yourself and the people who may end up having to rescue your ass at risk.
