Why not to Poach a Closed Park

That guy was a moron and poaching is way sketch, so don't do it kids.
That said, I just realized that I once poached a feature that I closed off. Ah, the identity crisis of being a park-skiing patroller.
 
This is probably the dumbest post I've read on here in a while.

"I do it all the time if it's safe"

It is going to be "safe" every time until the one time when it's not "safe."

Then, you're fucked.

Do you have any idea what the underlying terrain or mtn infrastructure might be?

One of the most interesting examples of "safe" poaching I ever saw was an ignorant friend who decided to grab some early season fresh on a closed trail.

Ski patrol was kind enough to take him down the trail and show him the 480V power lines that he skied over before they confiscated his season pass 2 weeks into the season.

You have absolutely no idea why a trail might be closed. You might think you do, but you don't. Every time you poach, you put yourself and the people who may end up having to rescue your ass at risk.

COUNTER THREAD:I hate it when i go to a resort for a week and the whole week the park is closed even tough:The snow conditions were fine,The jumps and rails were all in place and shaped + groomed (it looked like that)I've never once in the whole week seen a snowcat or a shapecrew in the funpark....

Or even worst when you have a whole park that's being maintained by 1 shaper and all the boxes and kickers are in a really bad condition, except the wallride and difficult rails. And then this einstein shaper decides to close off and reshape the wallride and the rails, thus leaving the worst park ever open and closing off the only good parts....
