I will post just once in this thread:

Why is there so much needless hate on simon dumont at the moment?

The way I see it is he has a very smooth style and is so comfortable in the air. his cork three's are some of the biggest slowest and smoothest out there. the guy also has trade marked the cork 10 with grab held the entire time. Also from NZ edits and just what I have seen is legit on rails though not as much as say tom wallisch or henrik.

He didn't some how magically rig the fucking text voting(stupid as shit yes i know) so you cant blame that on him. He just threw a trick he is fucking badass at and decided to amp the crowd than just hucking and spinning like fucking crazy which most pro skiers can do. And that was 20 times better than a double front that would have won 20 years ago or whatever so stfu about that. Yes PK's 12 was dope and super technical but perhaps crowd thought maybe simons was more stylish *ghasp*. Simon does what he can and wants to win but is allways a humble winner and gracious loser. Any attempt to argue that he was sulky or sullen when he lost pipe or arogant and too stoked when hewon big air is purely subjective.

I am sure some of you can do a double front... but can you do it on a block of ice and with such show manship in front of 100 million people? thats what I fucking thought

not liking him because he is short is just shallow and completely rediculous. I understand someone not liking him for coming off as arrogant. The thoughts in thread came from the 4000 posts regarding the xgames where nearly everyone is bashing simons double fronts as if its some sort of disgrace or something and just sounding retarted in general when speaking about the x games....

on that note most of you sound really shallow and not stoked at all that our sport just got a lot of spotlight which only occurs once a year to the general public
 
couldnt agree with u more dude. dumonts pioneering this sport with the shit hes been pulling. example: boosting 35 feet out of a massive quarterpipe. i mean ya the dudes arrogant and pk shoulda gotten the win in big air but look what came out of it. he donated his money to riley(get better bro) thats straight class i dont care what anyone says. skiings not about hating on someone cuz there short and arrogant and a "sell out" as corny as it sounds were all a part of something bigger and where would we be without pros like simon and tanner? sittin on a groomer bored off my ass thats where id be. so before yall hate just think bout why ur hatin and if they rlly deserve it. thats all i got. laytaa
 
I agrew with you yes

but

I feel it would have been much more beneficial if Simon through a more tech trick or at least different tricks rather than two misty 10's and two dub fronts in an effort to further skiing rather than further himself

but Props to him on giving to Riley and recognizing PK should have won
 
i met simon once and he was the chillest dude ever. i dont see why everyone always says hes an ass. when he wins 2 xgames pipes in a row then doesnt win 4, of course hes gonna be disappointed! you cant expect him to be like tanner, who doesnt care nearly as much as simon. simon pushes himself way to hard to be happy with a 3rd place. when your sports team that you play on loses to the other team, are you disappointed, or do you go to the other team and go "DUDE YOU JUST BEAT US! YEAH!"

stop hating on simon, hes not arrogant, he just wants to win
 
personally i kind of like the dude. i hate numerous things he has done, but at the same time i admire him.

i hate the fact that he did the whole world record qp jump. ithink many of the pros out there couldget that if they desired to do so, but dumont just has the sponsors and big name to obtain the oppurtunity... i also hate taht he even did a double front in contest. he KNEW that the crowd would go wild, and everyone would see it as superhuman. Everysingle one of my firends who dont ski thought it was rediculous. to the untrained eye, that beats a dub cork 12 any day, and simon absolutly knew that

however i do admire how humble he was when they announced the results. he didnt even smile, he knew that he stole the vote, and pissed us off. And how he donated his money to riley poor, mad props on that.
 
wat i hate is why everyone is hating on him for the big air

1. he had no control over the texting

2. if you were in it you would do a trick that would win

3. he isnt cocky at all he is just competitive like most of the people on here

4. his double front was still amazing cause he extended it out the ying yang

but yea on the topic of dumont. i didnt see the big air, only the seggies on NSTV. people should stop hating on simon for winning. personally i think there were better runs out there by other skiers, but you cant hate on him for winning. its not like hes being cocky about it or anything, hes just doing what he does best, which is going huge and winning the hearts of pre-teen girls across the nation. THAT is why he won the text-vote by a landslide (stupid way of judging, leave it to the professionals). if you asked everyday americans which pro skiers they know, they would probably say simon dumont and tanner hall. they are known, and they are VERY hyped. think of every teenage girl watching the x-games. who are they going to vote for? the cutest guy. which is obviously Simon. no homo.
