Why no love between NS & Freeskier?

Hey, heres someone using the f-word.
What the fuck dude? I may not be going to Dew Tour at Mt Snow because of a family trip to Hell's Waiting Kitchen but not giving me a shout when you were in Boston was weak. Weak.
haha.
Dave's right though. Even if he is a bad friend and a jerk. At least your brother is cool.
;-)

and now he's basically the only writer worth reading that they've got.
Freeskier sucks because their articles contain little substance - just some vague explanation of what went down, an allusion to partying at night, and a washed-out conclusion. Add that to a terrible layout/graphics job and up-to-the minute Pete Olenik coverage in every issue and BAM - shit magazine.
The cover on the latest one is pretty dope, though.

Pump the brakes, Mike. What's next, a dig at my sister?

Dew Tour comes before a trip to Florida. I don't care who's going, parents, siblings, slutty chicks... The Dew Tour at Mount Snow is going to be the event on the EC this season. Missing it, well... That's just not an option, brother.

And here's some quality Amirault Family / Rogge bonding time. In case any of the haters here thought this shit was made up or something...

Boom, damn skippy. Holidays together. That's how tight we are.

If that isn't love, I don't know what is.

I think Mike was actually on our Amirault X-Mas card this year.

I wish.
So anyways, as you can see from the back and forth between Dave and I, there's no hate between NS and Freeskier, Line Skis.

Rogge and Digi Dave hit the nail on the head...straight up nothing but love between us & Freeskier. We spend the better part of our winters traveling together, eating together, skiing together and partying together. Hell I spent more time with on the road with my main man Shay last year than probably anyone else. Everyone who works for both companies has pretty much the same uber amazing life, the only difference is the name on our paycheques.

Us hating on eachother would be like the company who made this post hating on Armada or 4FRNT or vise-versa. Sure we're competitors and therefore competitive, but we're all fighting the good fight together. Nuff said.

the way I see it, Freeskier destroys the environment with their magazine, I will not approve of them until they go green and use 100% recycled materials
NS on the other hand is completely green, and given the freshness of articles on ns, i'd rather read stuff online than in a mag

Sorry bro but no its not. Im sure we all greatly appreciate what schmuck, rogge and everybody else at NS central does (a shit load). But in the end NS is about us and our skiing community, it speaks to so many different types of skiing from jibbing to big mountain, teles and no polers, hell im sure there has to be a few monoborders somewhere.
I feel freeskier has a certain idea of what skiing should be and that is the only view they put in their magazine. The problem is, us skiers should dictate what skiing not what the Freeskier staff thinks it should be

alright if NS made a magazine it would be pointless, because NS is basically a magazine already, except you get the updates a whole lot quicker than if you would if you had to wait a month for the next issue to come out...

1 - After many more drinks I still feel like an ass for what I mistakenly typed before. Both FS & NS are great. Still not sure why my brain was mis-functioning so bad at that point.

2 - Rogge, I got a shout-out, but I was in NYC so I couldn't take part sadly. Kinda like when you went to Fenway for a Sox/Mets game and never called me...

3 - I'm pretty sure I don't have anywhere to stay for Dew Tour @ Snow so if someone would like to hook at least two people up with a place to sleep for the weekend it'd be much appreciated =)

4 - Like Rogge, I've worked for both sides. Much love.

5 - I'm in Delray, Florida while it's snowing up North so I'm extremely jealous.

I am a fan of freeskier..As well as SBC, Powder, Etc..aything related to snow gets me somewhat stoked..all the articles, pictures..w.e it may be....

Rant:!!!One problem i have with freeskier is i would love to rep and help them out..i paid for 2 year subcription...and all off a sudden after the 3rd issue 2 years ago, i stopped recieving that years and the whole next years issues...I emailed and shit and never got response..Ever since then..i feel i have been cheated by freeskier, even tho i love checking out there sites, reading my buddies magazines..but for myself..i can never purchase another magazine and support there company again, enless they appologize for the inconvenience and a waste of my money!

theres no real hate for any good reason i can think of. I think it just manifests itself in the way people feel that freeskier is sorta lame... i dont want to say it sucks but about the only time i read it, is for free at chapters, but if someone sees me!? im putting it back on the rack pronto. But lets be honest, the first 3 years of Freeskier i bought them all, unfortunately i cant think of 1 memorable issue... Freeze and powder thats a whole different story.

They are all skiing related so what does it matter. Skiing is awesome all around. All the different mags, and ns just give us more pics and articles to read, i say it's all good

End of story. Sure they both cover skiing, but they approach it from different directions. Freeskier brings the rock star stories and NS brings the more grass roots stories. That's how I see it anyway...

freeskier is terrible i hate thier gear issue i have never seen them give a ski one bad review, for that matter ive never heard them say one negative thing about a ski, they just use that stupid stoke-o-meter. they need to learn from magazines such as consumer reports and not be afraid to bash the shitty equipment.

Just a note for all of you saying how much you hate the advertising in magazines...If it wasn't for the advertising, you wouldn't be getting a magazine in the mail, because they couldn't afford to produce one without it.

How come in the Freeskier Photo Annual when they are talking about online ski shops, evogear.com (awesome), backcountry.com (awesome), getboards.com (not awesome) and some others are mentioned, but not jibij.com. Shouldn't Jibij be one of the more relavent online shops for the Freeskier readers? I was really surprised it wasn't mentioned.

the pics are pretty good, but the review system (buyers guide) is retarded. the last freeskier i bought, about 1 in every 8 skis had a short paragraph summarizing them. most were just pictures of the skis and the dimensions. so the content isnt very good, pics are pretty good, and i dont feel like paying money to see shit i could find on the internet IE newschoolers.com

you didnt see the article about Jibij in the mag? i dont know if it was in the same issue or the one before it, but there was an article about how great the shop is.
