Why is Sony Alpha glass so slow?

Sup. I’m looking for new lenses for my a6000. Looking for something pretty nice but most of the e mount lenses are pretty slow. Like f4. Is this something to do with crop sensor or is it just that they don’t expect anyone shooting crop to want a nice lens. Do you just have to go FE to get it?
 
The mount for a full frame sony camera and a crop sony camera is the same, the lenses don't change.

Sony makes fast glass, its just expensive, the 70-200 f2.8 is v nice.

The fast lenses are made for both. Since consumer level cameras have crop sensors, they make cheaper lesnes that are made for crop sensors. These lenses aren't always great, the good lenses you want to buy are "full frame" lenses.

Sweet. That's what I was thinking. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't some tech wizardry i didn't understand.
 
Pretty sure your questions has been answered, but I just wanted to mention that if youre going to be sticking with crop sensor bodies, the Sigma 30mm1.4 DC is quite cheap and you could probably find a great deal on a used one.

Keep in mind, a lens made for a full frame sensor will be longer on a crop sensor by a factor of 1/3. For example, a 24mm would be roughly 32 mm, A 135mm would be about 180mm, etc.

The lenses made for a crop sensor camera, like the a6000, are also affected by the crop factor so the 24mm E mount lens (crop sensor lens) will have an effective focal length of 32mm as well. All lenses are labelled with their focal length regardless of which camera they go on. The effective focal length is what you see through the camera (x1.5 for crop sensor, as written for full frame). So with a a6000 ALL your effective lengths will be x1.5 no matter the lens.
